  1. Marv, thanks for the encouragement. I hope you get fit soon and back on the course. Its very strange as I try to analyse what that pause is. For me it feels like a kink at the top before the downswing.
  2. I recently started back playing golf after a 20 year lay off. I thought it would be like riding a bike, just pick up the clubs and be shooting mid 70's as I was a 6.2 handicap player. Nothing was further from the truth, I was plain crap. I have since got down to 22.3, with flashes of playing brilliantly, but only flashes. Ofcourse the body has changed a bit, but I am still pretty fit. Reading the article on the pause at the top, reminded me that's what I used to do. Maybe it will start to get my sequence in better order.
  3. Hi, I play at Rochford Hundred GC, links like and extremely windy. I would say that playing in wind for me is a lot about feel. Hitting it soft and easy into the wind cuts down the spin, which I tend to do too much, as I hit a very high ball. I've found that long irons gripped down to an 8 or 9 iron length seems to give a good result into the wind. I've found that downwind I would use a 9 iron from 160 yards, as I said the winds are 14 mph minimum with gusts of between 20 - 35+ mph
