  1. I got them on the middle one of the three ring finger phalanges. And I'm also a high handicapper, so we might do the same thing... I'm right handed, never had anything on my gloved hand...
  2. I'd like fourball, or even foursome, but scramble would be totally usuless right? Our scramble games always turn into a putting contest... But if all tournaments on the PGA and European Tour are played strokeplay, barred one or two, it makes sense to use that format for the olympics as well right?
  3. Dutch television news just announced that the Olympic Committee has added golf and rugby sevens to the 2016 Olympics. I'm sure people will be able to provide links to nice inside stories shortly. Apparently there's one more meeting before it's official, but it seems settled. Now I'm just curious whether they will keep the top 30 + the 2 best players per country selection rule. Cause that would result in a lot of ecstatic golfers from smaller countries What do you think? And did I miss the thread on this subject somewhere?
  4. Do you have any tips on what clients are best, and will allow me to watch non-chinese streams?
  5. Well, this is not looking good for me. Apparently Sky is the only one broadcasting the US open in Europe, and only UK and Ireland citizens can apply for the online stream. Anyone in UK might have a Sky account they'd like to share with an unfortunate mainlander?
  6. Well, I know a couple of bars in the city that have sky sports, I could call around and check whether they would show golf. They're mostly football (soccer) bars, so it might be they ignore golf. I don't think sky is available for private persons. Maybe I should find myself some internet stream and an American radio channel for the commentary (suggestions are welcome BTW)
  7. Does anyone know who has the rights for the US open in Europe? It appears the BBC and Eurosport are not broadcasting it. Any European TV channel would be okay, I can get a lot of them in the Netherlands.
  8. Only one of you agrees with me, no clue why this isn't a more common pick: Paul Casey
  9. Definitely 7 iron, in the Netherlands you have to do an exam on 4 par 4 holes before you get to play on the regular golfcourse. You have to hit under 22 strokes for the best 3 of these 4 holes, which most of you would consider pretty easy. However, when you're a beginner, you can get to the green of all 4 these holes with 2 strokes of your 7 iron. So in order to pass the exam, you only need your 7 iron, PW and putter. So I started playing golf hitting my 7 iron, and it's still my favorite.
  10. I really can't help myself butting in these conversations. I'm a newbie golfer myself, but if people mess up the basics (i.e. the part I do understand) I always try to correct them. Most of the time they're grateful, sometimes the guy doing the instructing is a little bit annoyed. But when they spend an hour doing everything wrong, they might be turned off the game permanently, which would be a shame...
  11. Well, I've been playing only for two years, but I would be helpless without my 6 and 8 irons. There are a couple of par 3s on my homecourse that just require a certain iron for me, I couldn't hit the same distance with another club. So I play with 1W,3W,3H,5I-9I,PW,SW,putter. So that's only 11. Although I could probably use another wedge I think.
