  1. Shot a 79 today. Yardage: 6657 Rating: 71.3 Slope: 120 My putting was awful. Went back and played in Runaway Bay, Tx. Was my home course growing up but over the years they really let it go. The new guys there are doing a great job in getting that course back into shape.
  2. yea i'm pretty much the same way. when i got down to 296 it only took like 3-4 weeks of just walking 5 days a week. that was coming from about 325. i got bit by what alot of people do. i played almost everything in high school and my senior year was at 290 during football season (and mostly muscle). but being the stupid 18 year old that i was i decided that i didn't want to play small school footbal or golf and wanted to go to college at a bigger place. well of course i quit working out and started partying. then came the weight. i just gotta find a way to keep the commitment.
  3. Age: 25 Height: 6'2" Weight: 313 Goal: 260lbs I work at a golf course in Texas. So I have plenty of opportunity to sweat!!! 3 years ago I was 350 and dropped down to 320. A year later i got down to 296 but have gone back to where I am now. Been around the same ever since. The biggest key for me (like most people in the world i assume) is committment. I always have trouble sticking to it. If I could lose the weight I feel like it would benefit my golf game tremendously. I'm a 7 handicap now at the weight I am at and feel if I weren't so heavy I could be much better.
  4. thanks for the info dgny. i have three different sets i'm gonna try out and see now. the nike vr, callaway x-20, and taylormade burner plus. all are the same price so i'm gonna see which i like best. jml, the i3's have been plenty good to me over the years. just ready for a change basically
  5. so i currently hit my ping i3's. had them for about 10 years now and want something new. the stores are selling the ignite II irons for $300. just wondering if anybody has experience with these and if they would be a good buy.
  6. student to be a teacher/coach when i get done. work at my local 9 hole basically as an assistant greenskeeper without the actual title.
  7. just lots and lots of water. summer does get pretty bad here. but on the other hand...........usually get to play longer since it doesnt get as cold here for quite a while. lol but just drink lots of water and stay hydrated. i'm just glad i dont do two-a-days for football anymore in the 100+ heat
  8. picked up a club for the first time in 3 weeks yesterday (frustrating that i haven't played) and it showed. shot an 82. played another 18 this evening and shot a 76. was -1 after the first 9. that usually tends to happen. do well on the front and then lose it on the back. its like i have some sort of golf ADD
  9. i think that'd be a great club. the 3wood i still use is the callaway steelhead III. best club ive ever had.
  10. trying to find tickets. went to the final round last year. got pretty lucky and posted up for a good spot on the 2nd playoff hole. went to the final round of the nelson last week. was fun. i like the colonial better. i think colonial is a prettier course than las colinas.
  11. shot a 75 at my local small easy course that i've been a member at for 10 years or so. not bad considering i shot 81 yesterday at the same place. what stung though was my 60+ yr old father shooting a 73. hasn't stopped mouthing yet!
  12. welcome to Big D dez!!!
  13. pretty good courses you talked about there. winstar is probably my favorite. fossil creek is up there on the list too. i hope i can get in with ya'll on these at some point. i agree robson ranch would be a tough one to walk. how is timberlinks? haven't been there. played twu today after class. been there a few times. absolutely hate the greens and today they charged me $19 to ride for just 9 holes. really not worth that at all.

    Augusta Week

My favorite tournament. Its the one that got me hooked on golf when I was a kid. Just something about the beauty of the course.
