  1. More like "consistency" is the issue here more than short or long game. I know tons of very high handicappers who have a great swing, good short game and putting but aren't able to put up good scores due to their being "on" on one hole and "off" on the next. And vice versa I've seen so many low handicappers with a so so swing, a so so short game and average putting but damn they are consistent. Their mis-hits aren't usually anything too crazy and when they're off it's still manageable. What I feel separates these two groups from each other is "trust" in their mechanics. The high handicappers are usually people who likes to tinker with their actions and think more in a way of playing "swing the golf club" game while the low handicappers don't think about their mechanics too much but focus more on "the job at hand" for each particular shot. This frees them up of tension and less tension usually results in a better golf shot. But that's just from my own experience, after all Dave Pelz is literally a rocket scientists and he said its the "short game" that seperates the low and high handicappers
  2. His recent swing philosophies and lessons are a little strange to me.. but hey what do I know ps. don't get me wrong they're super fun to watch and he seems like a very nice guy
  3. You got me there chief.. just wanna stir the Hogan pot a little. It's been so quiet in here for so long. Worked didn't it? lol ps. I'm new here and a Hogan fan(obviously!) nice to meet you all. Cheers!
  4. Try this.. but first the why.. Usually a downswing that starts to steepen happens because of what happened in the backswing. The shaft was "tipped" backwards with the flick of your wrists somewhere in the backswing. So an equal and opposite reaction of the "flick back" is a "flick forward" of the shaft causing the shaft to steepen or as we call it tipping the shaft forward. So what you should "feel" like you're doing is have the club go back way more "shut" and "steep" than you're comfortable with. The trick is not to get it back shut with the counter-clockwise rotation of your wrists but by the left shoulder moving more down and under your chin. Kinda like you wanna reach your left arm to someone standing to your right but in a way that the glove logo looks down to the ground not point straight forward. Don't worry about the forearm rotation at all cause after this point it will "have to" naturally rotate clockwise or it will get stuck there. It will feel weird at first but you will notice that on the downswing the shaft wants to shallow all by itself without you trying to do anything. Hope this helps.
  5. I will save you all the trouble and tell you there is really a secret. Think about it, how can a human being be so consistent like Mr.Hogan was even after he suffered a near fatal injury. He used to hook the ball under pressure then one day just.. "poof" and it was gone. And yes he never really told anyone the "whole secret" but bits and pieces of its components to different people. But to be totally honest it wasn't even really bits and pieces of the real component of the secret but just merely more of a "hint" of those components. Look at the way he takes his grips and all of his pre-shot routines. Study it closely and you will see something very unorthodox about it. It is all the first "part" of the secret. Then look at the way he stands over the ball at address. There is something very different about how his spine angle, shoulders, hands and arms looks at address. And look very closely at the relationship between his upper and lower body on his takeaway. Then look at how he levitates the club from takeaway to half way back, it is done in a very unique manner.. cause the secret ends there for him. The downswing he does nothing conscience other than "feel" the shot he wants whether it be fade draw high or low shots. You guys don't have to believe me. But keep an open mind and go back to studying every little things he does the minute he grips the club till the top of his backswing. If lucky you will catch a glimpse of his "real" secret in action. ps. hint.. the secret turns a hand eye co-ordination release into a body controlled pivot release while letting the hands "go crazy" (hence the "i wish I have three right hands comment) without conscience effort in the downswing.
