  1. No, I haven't. Will give it a shot. I did adjust my tee heights, but the ball still appeared to fall out of the sky instead of still staying up and going further.
  2. I currently have a TM M3 driver (460cc head). I've always felt uncomfortable with the size of a 460cc driver. I bought a used TM M5 Tour (435cc) and although I find it more user friendly and nice to look at set up, it apparently is made for low spin. Now, with my swing speed, I hit my M3 about 230-240 yds, but with the M5 Tour, I don't seem to get any additional distance and in fact feel like the ball drops off the sky at its peak and I get less distance than with the M3. (they have the same Tensei Blue 60g Stiff shafts). What less than 460 cc driver head driver do you folks recommend? Does a spinner M3 give me a better falling trajectory and therefore more distance? (seems counter intuitive). Thanks.
  3. Yes, I heard about Yuka's 5 wedges too. And yes, I was also interested in the Ganne kid playing today; her attitude is so good and she will be good for LPGA golf in the long run. To your question, I would drop my 5i since with my slower swing speed, I don't get effective difference between my 6i and my 5i. I still don't know what my 5th wedge would be. I have a 46 deg PW, a 50 deg gap, a 54 and a 58. Would possibly add a 56 with larger bounce than my 54 possibly.
  4. Totally agree. I actually feel bad for her. She really needs some therapy time; I'm being honest. I recall her actually tearing up during the last few holes of a tournament a year or two ago because she had the yips while putting and chipping (the microphone caught her saying this to her caddie); the stress of expectations has gotten to her. Why would your loved ones say its ok to turn pro at 15 is still a mystery to me. Her chipping and putting (from short distance) is very suspect and may be more than just a mechanical issue behind it. Again, I hope this young lady gets some help; she refused interviews after today's collapse at The Olympic Club. I wish her well.
  5. ...and the whole group just got put on the clock (for the second time today apparently). Not surprised at all.
  6. Same here, dude. I'd be pulling my hair out playing at that slow pace.
  7. Am watching the LPGA US Open at The Olympic Club on TV and noticing slow play that is not getting called out. The featured group this afternoon has Brooke Henderson in it and she has to be the slowest. After her 2 playing partners hit their shots, she and he caddie then start to figure out distance and club selection. Announcers merely observe 'they really work it out' instead of calling out the fact that she had time to at least figure out the distance if she was playing third. Is it the difficulty of the Olympic Club that the players are getting a some slack or are they not getting timed and warned anymore at a US Open? This is an honest question.
  8. Note that there are serveral types of Super Stroke grips. I use a Super Stroke 2.0 Flatso grip; absolutely love it...used to have the fatter 3.0 (not flatso). Either way, I can't see myself going back to the thin putter grips. Only other one I may try is the pistol grip. Best luck in your search.
  9. Congratulations. My goal has been to break 80 consistently! I shot a 86 a few days ago; not too bad since it was my 3rd round after a long hiatus due to a 'frozen shoulder' problem. It's the couple holes that I double bogey or worse that are killing me. Consistency is improving though. My wedges need to be crisper and my lag putting needs improvement.
  10. I used to play the DCI 981 for over 20 years; really neat set of clubs. I felt the need for more forgiveness so I moved to the Forged 804 os about 2 years ago. Absolutely love the forged feel; and I can work the ball both ways. Never tried the 990s but that may be in the offing soon.
  11. Nice set. I have a pretty mixed bag myself; see my signature section. Ping driver, TourEdge 3-wood, TM hybrids, Titleist irons, Cleveland wedges, TM putter. I love each club and feel comfortable with them, so if you feel the same, nothing wrong in a mixed bag. Not sure about using 2 different sets in the irons though, unless the feel is seamless.
  12. TaylorMade r7 Quad RH Driver 9.5 Stiff flex Fujikura Speeder 757 Shaft including genuine TM r7 head cover. Golf pride grip is also in good condition. No topping marks on the driver head. Includes Launch Control System Tool to change out weights configuration to adjust your ball flight; 24 grams total weights (more than 10% of club head's mass) to help tune your ball flight. Asking for $45 only; shipping not included. PM me. I can ship by USPS Priority Mail to continental US only. Thanks.
  13. Ben - I have removed an original Odyssey putter grip for future use by just using plenty of solvent; some on either end. Haven't used an air gun, but seen some demos on YouTube of the same. I'm fairly certain you should be successful in removing the original grip using a solvent; let us know how it goes. Good Luck!.
  14. I played the Srixon Z565 irons a couple years ago as a loaner set at a company golf event. They had great feel and I liked the V-sole on it since it tended to correct my depth of divot (just fyi...I don;t like the v-sole on my Cleveland 58 deg wedge, but that's another topic!). When I get fitted, I will be leaning toward a Srixon iron. What is interesting is that I also like the Tour Edge brand; I've used their 3-wood for years and will not change it; not sure how their irons will stack up.
