  1. In the market for a good gps golf watch. Wondering if theres anybody with some good recommendations on them. Ive seen some of the newer ones that have a pin placement feature that you can move on a green layout for exact yardages. It seems like a winner from Garmin. I currently own a Leoupuld g2 laser which works fine but looking for something faster.
  2. If your trying to break a certain score then I would practice more. I went from mid high 90 to mid 80 low 90 by practicing more than I ever have within the last year. Key is not getting burned out like I feel sometimes. Good luck.
  3. Practiced putting today while packing. Balls rolling really well. Trying to visualize my putt before I strike it. 10- 3ft putts, 10- 6 ft, and 10- 9 ft.
  4. Focused on driver again. Teed it up a little higher and hovered the club at address to get more of an ascending impact to get it higher. Last round I was teed lower because of fear of topping it. Something I've done lately. Now I feel more comfortable with it higher and hopefully it translated to a longer and higher ball fligh.
  5. Cool. I grew up as a kid in the Westover Hills just around the corner from that coarse.
  6. Worked on driver today. Was really trying to feel the right arm extend through impact. The feel, sound, and contact felt so pure. No power leakage today.
  7. I play at Hidden Creek down in Burleson. Occasionally at Southern Oaks by Spinks airport. How about you?
  8. I haven't posted any rounds on gamegolf yet since I just joined recently. I surprised myself on that particular drive though. It was a 380 yd par4 dogleg left. I know it was 300 because my approach shot was 80yd on a laser.
  9. Recently listened to podcast advertising the Bridgestone Precept power drive balls and they seem like some decent balls for the price. Bought a box of 12 for less than $8. At this price point I'm willing to try since I suffer from distance and money, lol. Anybody have any opinions on this product. The reviews I've read is that they're comparable to the high end balls on distance but don't spin much around the green. I figured I'd give them a try since Bridgestone makes quality products. I've tried the e6 distance and they were wonderful off the tee. Nearly 300 yard drives.
  10. Day3 Practiced 9ft putts for 15 minutes. Notes to self: make sure the carpet under the putting matt is flat before making adjustments. Watched the skill code and grabbed a club and did everything that was taught on the curve is queen episode.
  11. Day 2. Feb 5 2018. Played 18 and shot horrible 100. It was 32 degrees and I was pretty crazy to play so maybe I can put this one behind me. The bad part was I showed up for tee time at 830 am for a 1030 tee. Wanted to get nice and warmed up but found out the coarse was not allowing play or practice until it got above freezing. Went home and did my usual backyard practice. Set an alignment stick about two ball lengths on my outside left leg. On downswing the first thing that moves is my left knee into the stick and let everything else follow. This helps me with shutting the face sooner before catching it on the heel. Chipped and flopped 20yd shots. Full swing on irons and driver. Practiced from 9 to 1030 and played 18 afterwards. P.S. Found out my coarse handicap is 17 so I need to update the profile.
  12. Practiced short pitch shots and flop. 60 degree wedge used and feel more comfortable with. 4 iron tee shots into the net and focused on draw mechanics along with good contact. I'm weak on driver so more time spent on center face contact by using foot powder on face. Miss was on the toe. Corrected by moving a little closer and seemed to find its way back to the middle. Since I tend to miss to the right when actually playing, I try to draw the ball and seems to work for me. Putted indoors on a putting mat from 4 to 10 yards and feeling like there's a ball in the middle of my shoulder blades as I rotate back and through with my shoulders. Total time about 2hrs.
  13. Good to see Woodland in the winners circle, especially after what he's been through. It shows that short game is king when it counts. I was rooting for Chez since he was one of the first tour guys I got to spectator at the Att Byron Nelson. Good to see a good game on a good stage before the super bowl.
  14. I bought a leoupuld gx2 for $200 on eBay and works great with slope calculations and club selector. I also use an app called golfshot that gives you exact distance to middle of greens for no fee. Best of both worlds.
