  1. I love Golf, and I'm not going to be here. 1st impressions are all I need. And my 1st Impression of this site isn't favorable. The feeling's probably mutual. THP also has an owner that can't manage to refrain from being a dickhead. No thanks. There, nor here.
  2. Wow...guess I was wrong about this place. It's not just THP that has assholes running it.
  3. If you would have read what I wrote carefully, you would have not felt the need to qualify what I said. I'm a physician. You? I see what he does to himself on the course, despite his back. He is being careless and dangerous. If he continues this way, he will not last long. Jeez, you own this site? For real?
  4. Which can cause issues due to the compensation if not careful. And Tiger is not being careful.
  5. Not exactly. First if he WINS, which is what everyone here thinks. Second, if he places high enough to get into the Fed Ex Cup and then makes the top twenty five. He certainly doesn't have to play the US Open to make that happen, but why wouldn't he. He also has a shot to get an exemption agreed upon by the USGA and he may have a better shot at that next year if he actually plays this year. There are ways to assure he gets to play in the US Open in the future, which don't include him not playing there. Nope. The motion which the fusion prevents is taken up somewhere else causing other joints to deteriorate faster. And muscles to work harder. Potentially leading to injuries at other spinal vertebral levels. And with the stress he's placing on himself, that is likely. He hasn't realized he's not a young man anymore. I fuse joints in the foot and ankle for a living. I'm very well aware of what can happen and the pitfalls of that kind of surgery in the back. It's not a fix all. Many people end up with more problems down the road if they are not careful. And Tiger isn't being careful.
  6. I wrote that this his last year of being exempt at the US Open. Which it is. At this point, it is a statement of fact. I don't think he has "a shot". Just because he's THERE doesn't mean he can win. It's not based on ONE event. It's based on his recovery history and his performance in the tournaments he's completed since his return. He doesn't have that hunger in his eyes to win like he used to. After his second round at the Masters he looked exhausted and beat up in his post round interview. I wouldn't be surprised if his back is an issue for him again, but he's keeping it under wraps.
  7. It's absolutely ridiculous to think the just because he didn't place at The Masters, he has a sure shot at winning a Major this year. Or ever again for that matter. I grew up watching Tiger and he was an absolutely incredible competitor in his day. Now is not then. People need to realize that. I don't think he will win again until he hits the Senior Tour in 8 years. Did you even read what I wrote?
  8. Ahhhh, I see. That makes more sense. Apologies. I'm new. Had no idea. Thank you for the explanation. Appreciated.
  9. Please review the requirements for qualifying for the US Open. Thanks. He says so himself. He loves Augusta because it tends to favor his style of play. All Golfers have a preferred type of course and for Tiger, Augusta is it.
  10. I understand. I'm new here but read through the whole thread and the whole thing is a political commentary to a degree. Some people are outright saying NO WAY!! Don't want politics? Don't make a thread with the President's name in it.
  11. The title of thread makes that impossible. He's the President.
  12. Augusta is the only course set up for his kind of game. If he didn't place there, I don't think there is any way he comes close at the other Majors. I know he has to play Shinnecock or risk losing his exemption. I'll be there, so hoping to see him.
  13. What does one thing have to do with another? Would you play a Golf course owned by Tiger Woods? What does someone's politics have to do with what course you play? If the course is nice, what does it matter?
  14. I am still far away from breaking 100 as this will only be my second season playing seriously. However, towards the end of the season last year, I started feeling a lot better with my swing, and had far fewer "blow up" holes. The weather has been horrible in the North East so I haven't had much time at the range, but my first range session after the winter was really pretty solid. I also don't get much time to play on a course, with a busy job and three kids, dog, blah, blah, blah. Playing on a course for the first time beginning of May, so we'll see how it goes. A few more range sessions in between, too.
  15. As you get older, "working through the pain" as I've heard is a terrible idea. Your muscles, bones and joints don't recover nearly as quickly as when you were younger. If you try, you will only injure yourself worse and be out of commission for longer. I am a lifelong athlete and was competitive in some sports, and have the injuries to show for it. If you are talking minor discomfort from sore muscles, then Motrin, and ice does wonders. I'm not talking pain that causes you to wince. That is more serious and may require rest and a visit to your doctor's office. That said, in May, we got a puppy, and her and I walk together a lot. Last season was my first "real" attempt at playing Golf, and I went to the range a lot and played a lot more than ever. Having had the puppy to be active with, I was able to keep up on the course and my range sessions didn't result in any kind of injuries. Just playing, practice and taking care of the pup resulted in my being in the best shape I've been in in over a decade. I certainly don't have any aspirations of elite athletics like I did at one time, but it's nice to be healthy.
