  2. Today I practiced with tour tempo on the range for the first time. I had done no work at home before. I am around 13 hcp, and have difficulty with the consistency of my swing. I would say that when I strike my irons good (all the way from the wedges to my 15° hybrid), my ball flight is something a low single digit hcp would be quite happy with. On the course, this is about 1/3 of the shots. The other 2/3 I have a tendency to cast the club from the top, with significant loss of contact, power, flight and all. Also, I have a quite centered swing, with a lot of input from SnT and similar. Now to my training session with tour tempo. I skipped all drills and went right to the full swing. I started with the 24/8 and did 10-15 practice swings, while listening to the beats. Then I hit 10-15 balls with my 8 iron, most of them quite good, but I felt the swing was slightly too slow for me. I switched to 21/7, which immediately felt right. I would say I hit about 100 balls while listening to 21/7, mostly 5-irons, but also some 21° hybrids, 8-irons and the occational driver. The results were very good; I would say 4/5 of my 5-irons had a penetrating, powerful yet high, really nice ball flight. Even better then when I struck it good before, and with much higher consistency. Distance was better than before as well, with my 21° hybrid flying 190 yards+ (with driving range balls which fly 10-15% shorter). This is really encouraging; however I am a little worried how easy it will be to keep the feeling without the tones in my ear. On Wednesday I am playing my home course, will be interesting for sure!
  3. The Stack and Tilt Swing: The Definitive Guide to the Swing That Is Remaking Golf
  4. My brain says McDowell, but I have a gut feeling Tiger will play some good golf this week
  5. I really like this swing, it is a powerful SnT swing that really fits my eye. But iacas and other experts, is this a good swing to compare to/work towards?
  6. Hi, I just started applying stack and tilt principles, and it feels I'm making progress. However I'm looking for a good face on and DTL video of a good stack and tilt swing, which I can use in V1 golf. Any tips?
  7. James_Black, Randy4h, westcyderydin, soloredd: Thanks for the feedback! I do not have a down the line video now, but it will come soon. The reason for my swaing is probably that I have been working alot keeping the weight on my right foot until I begin the downswing. Before I straightened my right leg in the backswing causing me to get the weight over to my left foot at the top of the swing. Seems I have overcompensated now... I will try to focus on keeping the weight "in the middle" of the right foot, not towards the outer edge...
  8. Now I have a new video uploaded, recorded at 200 fps. I'm hitting a 5 iron. I have worked alot on keeping my right knee bent during my backswing to make sure I keep most of the weight on that leg before I start the downswing. I have made progress, however when I look at this video, it looks like my right knee/leg gets into a weird position. It dosen't feel bad, but maybe I will end up with knee trouble if I continue with this swing? And I know I have the ugliest follow through :P
  9. My main focus before the season starts (probably in April here in Sweden) is to get more hip/leg action in my swing. The key is probably to keep my right leg from straightning too much in the back swing...
  10. I use the interlocking grip and have similar problems with my right pinky. The finger can be really sore after alot of golf, with pain when pushing the finger in a certain way. I will try to learn to use the Vardon grip, since this pain won't seem to go away...
  11. Thanks for all comments! As prio one, I will improve my posture, this probably the easiest change also :) Then focus on overswing and hip rotation. Need warmer weather though, we have had -5 to -10 degC for like two months now, too cold for driving range :( My friend just got a Casio camera with slow motion video recording, so hopefully I can upload better vidoes in some time...
  12. Hi! 2010 will be my third season playing golf. The first season I went from 36 to 27, and last season from 27 to 18. The goal for 2010 is to get below 12 hcp, but to do that, I need to get a more consistent swing I think. I hit the ball a decent way, expected carry with 7i 175-180 yds (but my Cobra FP 7i is more like a 6.5i), and expected carry with driver is 255 yds+. But I think the distance is more because I'm in quite good physical shape, than a good, efficient swing. I see four major areas of improvement: 1. I overswing alot even with a 9I 2. At the top of the swing, the club points WAY right of the target, probably gets worse with the overswing 3. I initiate the swing too much with the upper body, need to include the lower body alot more 4. Terrible posture, way too bent back So, swing experts, I cannot fix all this at once, what should a focus on first? Maybe is it something not listed at all... Grateful for any input!
  13. 2010 goals: 1. Get below 12.0 hcp 2. Make the cut in the club championship
  14. I'm looking to replace my trusted 18° Baffler DWS, since when I picked up my 909H 21°, the Baffler is too close in distance. I will most likely pick up a 909H 15° or a 909F2 15.5° to replace it. Other than that, I will try to keep what I have, unless I find a really good deal on some new or used AP2s
