  1. The bag and cart are both black, so not sure how easy this will be to see. But, you can see that the part the bag rests on is between the bag and the stands. Also, each stand is on either side of the "neck" that holds the bag rest to the frame of the cart. This also helped to keep it from sliding one way or another. The best way I found to get it this way was to lay the bag on the cart and then try to shimmy the bag rest arm under each stand. The bag rests arms on my cart are fairly flimsy, so it wasn't hard to do this, but I'm also using a cheap cart. On my bag, it did raise the bottom of bag just slightly off the bottom of the cart. But, this didn't seem to be a problem because I was still able to strap the straps around the bottom to hold the bag to the frame.
  2. I figured it out. The plastic part that the upper part of the bag rests on is rounded, as it should be. The problem is the legs on the bag don't rest on this rounded plastic very well, causing it to shift one way or another. I figured out that if I work the legs around the plastic platform so that the platform is between the legs and the bag, it fits very well. Also, the legs keep it from moving around. Worked pretty well that way.
  3. I have a stand bag with dual straps. Recently, I purchased a used pull cart and have been enjoying not lugging a bag around for 18 holes. The only problem is that when I strap the bag to the cart, it will soon rotate to one side or the other with the bag eventually laying on it's side. This is due to the back of the stand bag not really being round, but more squarish so it doesn't sit on the cart very well. Would a cart bag be good for this? I wasn't sure if cart bags were just for golf carts or if they do just fine with pull carts too. Mainly I want a bag that sits on the cart correctly without twisting to one side or the other. Also, any recommendations would be nice.
  4. No shorts? It's so hot right now I'd play in my underwear if I could. I only wear long pants when it starts cooling down.
  5. I've actually enjoyed watching the Solheim Cup. Although, my wife thinks it's because many of the women are hot and she's getting jealous. I didn't even notice the blonde, hot bodies with their nice legs.
  6. Barack Obama is also the 44th white president. People focus on what they want to focus on.
  7. I played at a 9-hole muny today and in my group were a couple of women probably in their 40's and some older guy who was probably in his 70's. This old guy then starts trying to give us lessons all throughout the round. I started off well, but the more he kept telling us what we were doing wrong and how to do it right, I started playing worse. I understand that in his mind he was doing us a kind service by imparting all of his wealth of knowledge he's accumulated over the years. The only problem is that I didn't ask for this knowledge, nor was it going to help me on this round. The shot I have the most problem with is a little chip up onto the green. He proceeds to tell me that I need to work on my chipping. Why do these people feel they need to point out the obvious. I think I've concluded that from now on, if I'm paired with people I don't know, I'm going to introduce myself and then say, "you're going to see some bad shots today and I'd appreciate it if you don't tell me how to fix them. I know what I'm doing wrong and I'm out here working on correcting it."
  8. I just want them to be nice and friendly. Some are, but more are not. Most I've dealt with give you a look like, "how dare you waste my time wanting to golf on my course." Heck, I even try to look the part, wearing a collared shirt and behaving politely. Maybe it's different if you're a member at a club or something. I've never been one, so I have no idea. My wife went out with me one time at a muny and because of the attitudes of the staff, she hasn't wanted to golf since. Not sure why some staff get cranky. Is it because they have to deal with golf-jerks all day? Some of us are actually nice people who just want to play and have a good time.
  9. I'd love to take lessons to cure my slice. My slice made me donate a ball to the driving range yesterday. Only problem is I can't afford to get lessons. Well, I probably could, but I'd have to deal with my wife giving me flack about it.
  10. I'd love to play Bethpage Black. I pass by it all the time and I was also at the U.S. Open. But, since I pretty much stink at golf, I'll wait a bit until I get better to attempt it. Not because I'm worried about my score, but because I don't want to irritate anyone I'm playing with or who is behind us. But, I do want to play it before the Open gets back here just so I can have a good idea of what the pros are dealing with.
  11. I think it was someone in the crowd along the fairway. They were standing near the rough by the crowd and when it happened they both kind of looked toward the crowd and started to laugh. I don't think the commentators mentioned anything about it, though.
  12. I don't mind the cheering at the appropriate times, but some of it is just annoying. I did hear the high-pitched screech when Tiger was teeing off at 17. It was very annoying to listen to it. I thought someone was attacking her. Also, as much as I want the Americans to win every tournament, I think it's rude to boo the foreigners. That belongs more in wrasslin' than it does in golf. And the people yelling, "Get in the hole!" need to go. There's just something about it that annoys me.
  13. I think Phil would be the top dog, but even he wouldn't pull people in like Tiger does. Like him or not, Tiger pulls in people like no one else. When watching the Tour on TV, they might as well call it the Tiger Show.
  14. I can't stand when people give me advice on the course. Yeah, I know I suck. But, usually I know what the problem is. See, I KNOW how a swing is supposed to look and what my body is supposed to do, but I can't quite get my body to go along with it. So, when I top the ball, like I'm prone to do, it has nothing to do with ignorance and more to do with not getting my body to do what I know it's supposed to do. So, it's annoying when someone else says, "you're pulling your head up," or something like that. I usually just say politely, "yeah, I know." I think what some people don't understand is when they offer unsolicited advice, it doesn't usually help. In fact, it just makes things more tense and makes it harder to relax and play well.
  15. I've been playing for a couple of years now and always rode a cart. Today I walked my first course at a 9-hole muny. I actually enjoyed it more than the cart. When I ride a cart I end up going too fast. Walking slowed me down and gave me time to really think about my shot before I got up to my ball. I'll have to try walking an 18 hole and see how much different is it. But, I did play better today than I have in a while. Not sure if that was from walking or not.
