  1. I didn't really think I looked like Ernie Els :)... just hoped to look smoother than 6 months ago. I guess my point in posting is that video reveals that my perception of my swing fundamentals is different in many respects than what is actually happening. For instance I see that my hips are not working as well as I thought and definately not the way my instructor taught. On the other hand, my lag has improved dramatically, just as I thought!
  2. Saw a guy get hit once. Buddy #1 ran to the top of a hill to spot the green direction for Buddy #2, after spotting, Buddy #1 moved approx 20 yards right... bad mistake, Buddy #2 let loose a 3w and caught Buddy #1 in the back left thigh, right below his gluteous maximus. This of course put him immediately down on the ground... next day his leg was black and blue and very ugly. Needless to say he never did that again. BTW from Wikipedia "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search The tough rubber core of a golf ball makes it a hazard to others following a wayward shot, despite its weight not exceeding 45.93g"Foré!" is shouted as a warning during a golf game when it appears possible that a golf ball may hit other players or spectators. The mention of the term in an 1881 British Golf Museum indicates that the term was in use at least as early as that period. [1] The term means "look ahead", and it is believed to come from the military "beware before", which was shouted when a battery fired behind friendly troops.
  3. Wow... just viewed my swing on video. Definately not what I pictured in my minds eye. Expecting smooth Ernie Els and got just what my name implies - someone hacking weeds! Better than the last time I saw my swing on video - 2 yr ago but I have lots now to work on: more co-ordinated back swing, better hip turn, better follow thru.... etc. etc. etc.
  4. been looking for a used car for my daughter... Found some Honda Elements (some are all wheel drive) for $10K or less. Elements have tons of room also. Have owned several Hondas and never had any major issues. They'll last for 200k miles easy.
  5. I'm glad she finally did it... It's been a long time coming, now we'll see if she can focus better in 2010 without the pressure of getting her first win.

He's fast but i've found that I usually get a good tip out of each show. At least a reminder on a basic that's slipped from my swing...
  7. Glad to see you had the guts to put your practice into effect on the course... I too have worked this summer on the same issue but have only attempted it once... I guess too afraid of a double... the whole risk/reward thing. I vow not to back down on the next one... Thanks for the inspiration!
  8. Crockett's Ridge, Warriors Path, Cattails, sometimes Tri-Cities... I live 10 minutes from Crockett's/Warriors so I'm there a lot playing/practicing... Glad there's other ETN folks here...
  9. Hope there are some others here from E. TN or SW VA? Great site, been lurking and learning for a long time... finally signed up. Hope I can contribute back in some small way! Alway's looking for playing partners (especially on Fridays or weekends).

Looks like those of us over 40 are definately in the minority! Currently 48 yr old, think I'm still 28, sometimes feel like 68!
  11. For my handicap I'd have to say from 150yd and in... not long with the driver and my putter can be flaky. Love to be inside 90 yards and/or chipping from anywhere!
  12. As far as I know my Father never held a club in his hands... likes to watch it on TV though....
  13. Currrently alternating between Taylormade Spider and 2-Ball
