  1. I usually like to say cocky things. It'll mess my buddies up because they really want to beat me after that. Something like this after a good shot: "I'm jealous of you guys, cause you get to watch me play."
  2. I recently went on a trip and during the trip I was getting 1 round of golf in. I am a new player also and was trying to decide whether or not to bring my clubs. It didn't cost me any extra to check the bag and my thought was, since I'm new and new to my clubs it was another chance to get used to them. if it doesn't cost extra just bring them. Since you are going for a short period you can check that bag and use your carry on for clothes since you probably wont need that much. Might as well make the experience as enjoyable as possible right?
  3. Maybe this is out of place at this point but, bring back Maiya.
  4. Bought from the for the first time 2 weeks ago. The AAAAA balls are def just as good as new.
  5. Yeah that's what I figured. Thanks for all the replies. Since I started buying clubs off ebay I always just want to make sure that little things like this aren't a sure sign of knock off clubs or something. But then again if 60k+ good ratings isn't good enough for me then I don't know what will be =). Im just overly paranoid about this stuff. Thanks
  6. Hey all, I purchased Mizuno MP52s on ebay like 2 weeks ago and maybe I'm getting overly paranoid, but is it normal for there to be a lot of small dents on the back of the clubs from clanking around in the bag? My old irons had a few but after 2 weeks there are a bunch of marks on my new irons. Just checking if anyone else with the MP52s or other Mizunos have a similar experience. Thanks
  7. I almost hit someone this weekend. I was on the tee and the hole dog legged to the right. The green of another hole was right after where my current hole turned. I still am not too good at judging distances so I hit my driver. It was dead straight and I thought it was a good shot. Then I see it go past the fairway through the trees and landed on the green of the other hole. I did not say fore because I didn't think it was going that far. When I went over there I apologized and they laughed saying I should just play the hole out on this green.
  8. Just wanted to bring this up because you never know if people know this or not, but are you sure these aren't counterfeit clubs?
  9. He's probably got other stuff going on in his life that he is keeping bottled up and when something goes wrong in golf he overreacts because all that anger is in him. Maybe try meditating, it didn't work for me but it does for some people. I don't think golf is the problem.
  10. Hi all, I've checked out some of the other threads on putting and couldn't find the answer to this specific question so I thought I'd open a new topic. I have been practicing putting at home on the rug and have been hitting into another ball. I think this helps with all aspects of putting besides reading the green, but I would like to buy something like this http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...6/refScid/1363 (its an automatic return putting green). I think this might make things a bit more fun. Do you guys think these are any good? My concerns are it won't help with alignment because it would be easy to line up due to the parallel lines from the edge of the green and I don't know how the hill before the end of the cup would affect my muscle memory in judging how hard to hit a putt at certain distances. Thanks for your help
  11. I'm pretty athletic and I usually pick up things very quickly. Is the wilson set in your signature what you have for sale?
  12. Thanks for the reply. I was told that a fitting right off the bat might not be a good idea because my swing is still undeveloped, did I misunderstand what a fitting is?
  13. Hello all, I am new to the forums and golf and had a couple of questions after reading through many of the beginner posts. I am 23 and I've hit at the range a few times with friends and am now looking to start playing golf a more regularly. I currently have no equipment and I have signed up for my first private lesson starting tomorrow. I have went through these forums and done a good share of research but I still had a few more questions. So I want to pick up a set of irons and I don't mind spending more for something of more quality. A lot of the posts have said to pick up a cheap set first to see if you like the game, but I usually stick with hobbies I decide to pick up. I was thinking about taylormade r7, mizuno mx100, callaway x18, or whatever else you guys think would fit me. I became a bit confused about which direction to go in reading some posts at this forum because many people say to pick up easy clubs to start out with, then I read some posts saying that easy clubs mask your faults. I would much rather buy a set that I would have to learn how to play correctly than something that will make me feel good but not allow me to get better, but at the same time I don't want to get something that would be completely unrealistic for me to play with off the bat. If you all could also let me know how long I should expect to stick with a certain club I would appreciate that too. Thank you for your help.
  14. My goals for the year are to take a few lessons and play a real round of golf and not slow everything down to a complete crawl.
