  1. He won more majors than either '10 Ryder Cup captain and more than Couples and Love. He has as many major wins as Norman and Olazabal. He can wear and smoke whatever he wants.
  2. I had that injury 2 years ago, right front ribcage. It took 2 months before I was able to do any light short game work, 3 months before hitting PW and 5 months before I was back to hitting driver. First month is really bad because it hurts a lot every time you move and there seems to be little improvement day to day. Either way if you get the intercostal injury you're probably looking at 2 months out of action minimum.
  3. If I had an opportunity to play $5 tournaments I'd do it every other day. You have no idea how good tournaments are for your development as a golfer. You should also play more with strangers. Mental toughness is paramount.
  4. Oosthuizen is gonna be always middle of the packer, no shot ever at another major or any other title. But not the worst, probably Rich Beem in the recent memory.
  5. Poulter makes us feel better about our mental weaknesses...he gets angry like many of us. But I realize he might not be pleasant to deal with up close.
  6. This is a very good idea but you need to limit the number of swings -- I wouldnt hit 100s of balls that way --- and as someone pointed out, use backup clubs since pounding sand will damage them. Otherwise it's a great way to learn how to hit ball first.
  7. Yes, he has many reasons to be bloody FURIOUS with his wife's behavior.
  8. He was close to making 125 last year in the fall series, should be easier but by no means easy this year. All the 100-150 position guys will play their hearts out.
  9. Not Faldo for sure as he has double that.
  10. I can't believe a legitimate question would get such a response.

Nice win for a Monday qualifier. Good to see him make some history. Seems like an articulate guy too.
  12. Average for an amateur on Internet forums is about 125mph. They have to tip X-flex and still find it whippy.
  13. I think for a good player mats are acceptable. I usually do 30 balls off mats everyday to warm up and do some "stretching swings" that go some half distance of normal shot. However, to learn proper mechanics and ball compression one absolutely needs to use grass. ONCE LEARNED this should be ok for a good player to take to a mat. By that point most of us realize when we mishit it from feel alone without looking at how the ball responded.
  14. Same thing happens to me during tournaments, but it only highlights weaknesses in your game. If you stop playing them you will not improve. You know, "dont practice until you get it right; practice until you CAN'T get it wrong." It's my motto, and tournament rounds show me what I can and will get wrong when on the stage.
  15. This DVD is excellent as the chipping method taught in it is truly something that turned my short game 180*. The only thing that needs some help is that Phil doesn't really talk about weight transfer, setup, grip and exact motion for the "hinge and hold" method so we are left to figure it out ourselves everything by watching him swing in slow motion. It took me a couple of weeks until I figured out how to make it work. But work it did evenutally! Completely worth it. In putting section I followed the advice to move ball forward and incorporate a little bit of forward press. It also made my putting more stable. Overall best instruction for anyone serious about practicing their game around the flag.
