  1. Something I saw recently in Golf Digest: for players with 100 mph swing speeds, a 5-wood goes about as far as a hybrid, but for players with 85 mph swing speeds, a 5-wood goes 15 yds further than a hybrid. Hope this helps.
  2. If you're looking for only one club to fill that gap, I'd get either a 4 or 5 wood. I'd try out the Ping G15 and Rapture V2 woods (or G15 hybrid if you decide to go the 2 hybrid route). All are very forgiving, long, and just easy to hit.
  3. I also recently got a G15 4 wood. It's straight, long, and VERY forgiving. Another plus is that it's easy to hit off either the fairway or rough as well as the tee. Launches into the air quickly and effortlessly, too. A great club overall.
  4. I'm considering getting my clubs regripped and I have a few questions. First off, if you have had your clubs regripped, how much difference does it make to you? And second, what grip would you recommend? I have heard that the Golf Pride ones are good, but I'm not too clear on that. And third, about how long would it take to get maybe 10 clubs regripped? Thanks in advance.
  5. I am going to the PGA Superstore tomorrow and I'm anticipating just getting a headcover, but who knows what I'll end up getting.
  6. I can recommend the Top Flite Gamer V2. It pretty much fits your specifications. It has both good distance and good feel around the green and is only $20/dozen. It's 3-piece too. But honestly, I think the thing to do is to just grab a sleeve of a few different kinds of balls, play a few holes with each, and see what works out the best for you. Hope I helped.
  7. A new Callaway Warbird X bag and a Cleveland CG12 54 degree wedge. The Cleveland was $30 cheaper than the wedge I was looking at, so I'm happy.
  8. You've gotta have AZ up there. You can play golf year round here, not to mention the great courses.
  9. Just bought some. Thanks for the great tip!
  10. Which store do you go to for your golf needs? Or which do you go to most often? I personally used to go to a Golfsmith by my house, but I just discovered the PGA Tour Superstore. That place is crazy cool. Definitely worth checking out.
  11. I just put put the clubs from longest to shortest. It works for me.
  12. I just got an Odyssey Two-ball F7. I've been long past due for a new putter.
  13. The ever-present slice with my driver and more consistency with my irons...
  14. I'm going today to test out and (hopefully) get a PING G15 4W and/or 2H
  15. All I want is to get good enough to make the HS golf team next year... Oh, and to be able to beat my friend when we play.
