  1. The LPGA courses are must plays as well as Victoria Hills in Deland (does not appear to be listed on Golfnow). I played Halifax Plantation last year and really enjoyed the experience, also played one of the Daytona Beach municipal courses, wouldn't go back. I've just started vacationing in this area the last couple of years and on my list of plays for March 2012 are Walkabout and Deltona Club, both of which I've heard good things about. If it's in your budget, Hammock Beach a little north of the area is supposed to be the best course in that area.
  2. I've never been but I can't imagine you could beat Bandon, Oregon for a stateside golf vacation. There's also Kohler, WI or upper Michigan along with the obvious Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head in SC. Being Canadian I'll also plug the rockies along the BC/Alberta border, Kannanaskis, Banff Springs, Jasper Park, Salmon Arm, Predator Ridge etc. etc.
  3. I hold an official RCGA (Canada) handicap but am not a member of a club, here in Ontario we have a Public Players program which allows us to access the RCGA handicap system for a little over $30/year. I use it to track my progress as well as for entry into various amateur tournaments.
  4. 1. Get back to a single digit handicap 2. Get both my FIR and GIR above 50% 3. Reduce my average putts per round 4. Play 4 or 5 tournaments
  5. +1 Dustin Johnson -2 Louis Oosthuizen Lee Westwood(10) Tiger Woods(10) Martin Kaymer(10) Phil Mickelson(10) Steve Stricker(10) Jim Furyk(10) Paul Casey(10) Luke Donald(10) Graeme McDowell(10) Rory McIlroy(10) Ian Poulter(10) Matt Kuchar(10) Ernie Els(10) Dustin Johnson(12) Francesco Molinari(8) Edoardo Molinari(8) Hunter Mahan(10) Retief Goosen(10) Adam Scott(10) Zach Johnson(10) Padraig Harrington(10) Robert Allenby(9) Louis Oosthuizen(7) Anthony Kim(11) Rickie Fowler(11)
  6. Did it yesterday. Played a private Stanley Thompson design ranked in the top 50 courses in Canada and jacked it up. Couldn't hit a green in regulation to save my life, but played well off the tee and not too bad on the greens. It was the in between play that ruined it for me. The worst part is that there's a chance I'll never get to play it again, although I would like to have another shot at it.
  7. Here in Canada our provincial golf associations run public player programs so that players like myself, who don't belong to a club, can carry an official RCGA handicap. Is there not a similar program in the states?? As for the question above, you would need to know the best 10 scores from your dad's last 20 rounds.
  8. Fly into Calgary and drive into the BC interior. Hit up Kannanaskis, Golden, Salmon Arm, Predator Ridge and Greywolf

    Age

30 years old, started golfing at age 12, played very little from 19-29 and am now getting back to playing regularly
  10. I play alone on a regular basis. Like others have mentioned I enjoy the quiet as well as playing at my own pace so when I do play alone it tends to be in the evening when the course is the least congested.
  11. Hello everyone. I've used the site a few times for information and have just now signed up, hope to continue learning from all of you.
  12. I like the Callaway HX One and HX Bite and prefer the feel of a 3 piece ball. Having said that I find a lot of golf balls, go through them and play the ones that are still in good condition, regardless of make.
  13. Depending on the wind, elevation changes, hazards present etc. I would be deciding between my 3 and 4 irons
