  1. So after a full round of irons being almost a full club length short, I was told I'm hitting short because I'm not loading over my right knee (I'm right handed). Always used to try to get my left shoulder over my right knee. Swinging with 100% arms can only get your so far in a round before you tire and breakdown. Other then the obvious mirror, any other drills anyone has would be great.
  2. They must be talking about the reverse rain suit problem they had at Celtic Manor. Instead of the rain being kept out it was kept in and two members of the US team almost drowned. It was scary but luckily they are strong swimmers and barely survived.
  3. The only thing I would suggest is the forward press of your hands before the take away which is delofting your club.
  4. I'll have this problem from time to time and just concentrating on hitting a point about 3 inches in front of the ball does wonders. It's keep my shoulders and weight down through impact and helps me swing down the line. I also do the same drill when I am hitting the ball instead of hitting through the ball.
  5. Take a bag of sunflower seeds to the range with you and put the seed about 4 inches in front of the ball. Then....hit the seed. On the course just keep your eye lined about 4 inches in front of the ball.
  6. I'm wondering why handicap likes your would make such a drastic change to their swing to cause a 6* change. I don't too many + handicaps making drastic changes.
  7. For pace I'll put a tee in the ground and an alignment stick about 18 inches behind the tee. I putt at the tee but try to leave it beyond the tee but shy of the stick. Then I'll switch the stick on the other side and reverse the put line.
  8. Any members have any experience playing in any "Mini Tours" in Maryland? Other than the GC Am Tour, what others are there? Looking to compete in one but the GC Am Tour is the only I can see.
  9. Never walked away from anything larger than half a bucket. Normally if it's going that bad or painful, I'll just wait until the action delays and walk my empty bucket out about 10-15 feet and try to chip and lob balls into that. If the playing on the course is going that bad I'll drop to only irons. If a mid to high teen handicap has never done it, play with only your irons one day from the same tees you normally play from. Especially if you are overly aggressive. You'd be amazed at how much laying up instead of swinging out of your shoes to hit a booming shot in to a green can help your game. The best part is when you still beat your friends without playing with woods or driver.
  10. I use a metronome (SP?) at the range all the time. They cost about $15 at pretty much any music store and can be set to 2, 3, and 4 beat tempo with any pace you can imagine and adjustable volume. I will hit about 1/3 of the bucket with the sound loud enough that I can hear it but not many, if any others. After that, I turn it off and try to keep it going.
  11. I lay two alignment sticks down on the ground or mat at the practice range about 4 inches apart with the ball in the middle and hit a short iron, mid iron, long iron, and driver. Only about 5 or 6 shots per club. I do it to make sure that my shots aren't leaking right or left on me. In theory it should fly the same direction of the sticks if I'm swinging down the line. Then putting takes the majority of my time. I stick a tee in the ground and lay a shaft or alignment stick about 18 inches behind the tee. I try to get the ball as close to the tee as possible and go passed the tee but not hit the alignment stick. It works on your speed and if you start hitting that tee with regularity the cup will look huge when your round starts.
