great ranging in a small package

Posted

Pros: size, ranges off almost anything, color, durability, battery life, easy to use

Cons: no slope calculation if you're looking for that.

I've had this range finder for 4 years now and still haven't found anything that beats it.  It's callaway but Nikon optics, a great brand.   I chose it initially because it ranges off of almost everything.  Want to clear a bunker, range the lip.  Front of the green, range the grass.  Edge of hazard, range a wood stake.  The capability is there and it is accurate.   The operation is simple, one push on, one push range.  each puch of the button gives 8 seconds of ranging.  You can pan and range continuously off of many objects....pin than front of green.  It even performs well on pins with no reflectors.   It is also very...

simple putter that works

Posted

Pros: simple, looks good at address, distance control

Cons: little perimeter weighting

I've owned this putter for a couple of years now.  It occasionally leaves my bag about once a year for a round or two when I get on a new putter kick but I always come back to it.   For and inside/square/inside stroke this is a fantastic putter.  It's easy to align and provides a lot of feel, something I didn't get with the high MOI putters that many swear by.  A smooth stroke with a good release really gets the ball rolling well end over end. You really feel what the clubhead is doing and I find it easier to control the distance on lag putts with this type of putter.   If you're looking for a putter that really lets you feel the clubhead this is...

Competes with tour level balls

Posted

Pros: Soft putter feel, good durability, clear alignment aid

Cons: lacks some spin around the greens, Logo is a bit much

Overall this is a very good ball and responds well to many different kinds of shots.  In a blind test I'm not sure I could tell the difference between this ball and my regular Callaways except for the sound at impact and  less spin around the greens.   Driver:  The ball performed well.  I didn't notice any gain in distance, but no appreciable loss either.   Irons:  I had a slight loss in distance with my irons, but once again nothing drastic.  The sound coming off of the clubface was harder than I'm used to, but the ball flight was nice and high and with enough spin to stop the balls on our greens easily.    Around the...
