Simple warm up tool. Improves swing speed?

Posted

Pros: Easy to use, let's you feel lagging clubhead

Cons: Possible to misuse or develop bad habits

The LagRag is a training aid primarily focused on developing swing speed. It is a golf towel with some industrial strength velcro that makes it easy to attach to your driver. The idea is to swing your driver with the LagRag everyday to build your golf muscles as the towel will provide resistance.         Velcro outlined in red so you can see it better.   The LagRag comes with a DVD that shows how to use the product along with some drills to correct a slice or hook and some suggestions to build muscle strength and increase swing speed. The DVD starts with the inventor (I'm assuming he's the inventor, he never introduces himself) hitting a...

Lamkin R.E.L. 3GEN Grips

Posted

Pros: Tacky, soft but firm, shock absorbing

Cons: none

Looks   This is a good looking grip. Comes in lots of colors but I'm more or a traditionalist so I just have the basic black. The pattern is quite different from the flagship Crossline grip that I've played off and on for years. Interestingly the pattern is not nearly as deep on the 3Gen as it is on the Crossline       Feel   This grip feels amazing. Soft but firm and very tacky. When I put the grips on (I blow my grips on with an air compressor) I had a little trouble getting them started because the grip is so tacky. On the course the grip stays firmly in place with minimum grip pressure.  An added benefit is the grip's shock absorbing...

Good product that could be great

Pros: Consistent height, durable, easy to use

Cons: One size does not fit all

I tested out the 3 1/4" and 2 3/4 bugle tees. I started my test by teeing up some balls using my normal tee height and comparing to the bugle tees. For me the 3 1/4" tee was about 1/8" higher than I normally tee my driver. The 2 3/4" tee was too short to be of any use to me - too short for my driver and too high for my fairway woods.   I hit about 50 balls at the range with the driver. True to their claims, the bugle tee was completely unharmed. I really like this tee for range use as its quick to setup and takes the guess work out of teeing the ball up. Anything that helps make your practice more consistent gets a thumbs up in my book. Next I took it out on the course for 18....

Nice solid towel

Posted

Pros: Scrubby side makes cleanup a breeze

Cons: Doesn't clean deep grooves

I received a grey towel which is very attractive. The plush side is microfiber in a deep grey with the reverse scrubber side is a slightly darker grey.         I really like this towel. The grey hides dirt well. The photos above are after playing two rounds and cleaning multiple clubs. You can barely see any dirt at all.   The scrubby side does a very good job of cleaning your irons and removes the dirt quickly and efficiently. Th scrubby side can't get all the way down into the grooves and there were a couple of times I had to pull out the wire brush for a deep clean. The scrubby side is also very nice for cleaning grips - I use cord grips...
