Great belt

Posted

Pros: A great belt that is available in a variety of colors and made from quality materials.

Cons: Some colors may stain your pants.

For the last few years, I've worn the Next Belt, which is essentially identical to the Mission belt. Instead of the holes you find on a standard belt, the Mission belt uses a ratchet system. The advantage of this system is that you can adjust the tightness in increments of 1/4 of an inch instead of an inch or more on standard belts. Also, it is extremely easy to get the belt to the right size as you simply remove the buckle and trim it to the right size and reattach the buckle, a process that takes no more than a minute.   As far as the actual workings of the belt, it couldn't be easier. If you want to make it tighter, you just pull. To loosen or take it off you simply move it in...

An absolute great ball for an even better price!

Posted

Pros: Feel, distance, durability, price

Cons: Only mail order, a logo that is a bit to large.

Over the last few rounds I've been able to play the Snell My Tour golf ball, and at this point, I'd go so far as to say that it is my ball of choice. Even though I play right around a 9 handicap, I still prefer the "Tour" level balls, however, I've never really picked one as my ball. I usually just go with what ever I can find on sale and have played nearly every ball out there. My favorite at this point is the Titleist Pro V1x, but at $45 a dozen I really don't play them often. Recently I bit the bullet and took advantage of their buy 3 dozen get 1 free, which got the price just under $35, but I had to buy a whole bunch at a time. While all the balls I've played have been very good and...

Overall a good tee

Posted

Pros: Consistent height, adjustable, durable

Cons: Harder to put into ground (not much), maybe a bit goofy

Overall, the Tornado Tee is a good product. It claims to add more distance to your tee shots by reducing spin, and while I'm not ready to say that it does, I don't think that it takes any distance away.         One thing that I really liked about the tee is that it gives a consistent height every time. For me, sticking it in the ground all the way with the mesh extended is perfect for my driver. You can also collapse the mesh down if you are going to be using a fairway wood or hybrid off the tee.  Also, since the part in the ground is plastic and the part you are hitting off is mesh and just moves with the stroke, the tee doesn't fly out of the...

Best shoes ever

Posted

Pros: Comfortable, light weight, versatility, looks

Cons: Possibly not the greatest for wet weather

I must say that I've been a fan of True Linkswear and their shoes from the beginning. I first heard of True Linkswear on this site when the original TRUE tours were announced and I wanted them from the start. I finally got my first pair about 6 months after their initial release and absolutely loved them.   Anyways, after hearing about the TRUE sensei for the first time, I did a bit of research decided that they were something that I wanted to get, especially since my primary pair of TRUEs (2011 tours, white) were getting a bit worn out considering I wear them everywhere. I ordered them on the 11/1 (the first day the were available) and they arrived a few days later. Here are...

Great looking wedges that perform as good as they look

Posted

Pros: Solid wedge that gives as consistent feel and a lot of playability

Cons: Going all out and replacing the PW, 9 iron, and maybe even 8 iron could get expensive.

Recently I was afforded the opportunity to review a set of 5 wedges from Scor and decided to have the clubs built to fit into a second set of clubs that I had that I didn't have a set of wedges to go with (Nike Forged Blades). Overall, I must say that these clubs performed beautifully.   Let me start by talking about the looks of these clubs. I have always played "traditional" (blade) wedges and these may be some of the best looking ones yet... they are clean and simple and are small and compact. Especially with my wedges, I like thin top lines and minimal offset and these fit the bill perfectly. Like I said above, I had them built to go with my Nike Forged Blades and they...
