Great Golf Course

Posted

Pros: Well Manicured Greens and Fairways

Cons: Very Little Food & Beverage Options

Bandon Crossings is an 18 hole par 72 course located on Highway 101 just a few minutes south of Central Bandon, OR.   There are 4 different sets of tees to choose from at Bandon Crossings...   Black Tees - 6855 yards, 74.3/136 Blue Tees - 6270 yards 71.4/127 White Tees - 5780 yards 69.2/123 Red Tees - 5030 yards 70.5/126   Bandon Crossings also has 5-Par 5's and 5-Par 3's which I find a little unusual but welcomed.  I like courses that don't follow the traditional mold of 10-4-4.  This in my opinion creates better chances to score at the course.   Bandon Crossings which opened in 2007, was created by Rex and Carla Smith with the idea of creating a...

High Spin, High End Ball

Pros: Spin On Short Shots & Feel Around The Greens

Cons: Slight Loss Of Distance

I was selected through the Sand Trap to test the new 2014 Bridgestone Golf Balls.  One of the requirements to get a dozen balls was to use the BFit technology on Bridgestone's website.  The BFit paired me with the B330-S.  I have been a purchaser of the B330-RX for the last few years, but was never fitted for it.  The recommended cutoff point for Bridgestone is 105 mph swing speed and mine is slightly less that that.  The B330-S is designed for swing speeds over 105 mph, but since I was fitted with it by the BFit, I gave it a go.   I definitely agree with Bridgestone on the 105 mph plus swing speed for these balls.  If I didn't make a great swing at...

"Honoring the Fallen, Building the Legacy" with one of the best grips on the market.

Posted

Pros: Tackiness, Tackiness, Tackiness, Look, Feel

Cons: None

When TST asked for volunteers to try out some new Golf Pride grips, I jumped at the chance.  I was already in the market for new grips, and getting a set from a reputable company made it more enticing.  At first I was a little bummed that someone had staked claim to the Decade Multi-Compound grips, also from Golf Pride.  The grips that I had on my clubs were the ones that come on clubs when you buy them stock at the store.  Needless to say the grips that were on my clubs were just average generic grips.  I occasionally had issues with my hands slipping on my old grips, so tackiness on my new grips was definitely going to be important to me.  When I saw the...

Good Ball For Beginners

Posted

Pros: Durability

Cons: The spin around the greens

The Ball is a 3 piece designed golf ball with a tungsten core.  The company is marketing The Ball as a ball where you will get all of the qualities of a distance ball without losing the feel/spin around the greens.  The Ball looks like most other traditional golf balls with circular dimples. It has a snake logo with an arrow for the side stamp.   My first opinion of the ball was how hard it felt when I took it out of the sleeve.  After practicing on the putting range for awhile it confirmed my first thought.  I did not have the same feel with it as my normal ball, the Bridgestone B330 RX.  The Ball gives me about the same distance as other...

Highest Performing Golf Glove?

Posted

Pros: Quality Leather

Cons: Fit

When I first received the Cutters 019T C-Tack Tour Golf Glove, I wasn't sure if I was sent a football glove or golf glove.  The glove came in a pouch with a slide zipper to keep the glove fresh.  The glove is made out of high-quality leather, and it has black stretch material on the top of the hand to help the glove stretch to the wearer.  The palm of the hand has black padding on it, as well as the 4 fingers that come in contact with the club.  The black padding on the glove is in the same places that my gloves usually wear out first, so I like the feature.        I was sent an XL glove, which is the size that I normally wear...

Great Ball

Posted

Pros: Real durable, great ball.

Cons: None

This ball is the best ball out there.  This ball has less spin off of the tee to reduce slices and hooks.  It also has a lot of spin around the green.  This ball is very durable and resists cuts, scrapes better than other balls I have played.

Best Glove Out There

Posted

Pros: Great fit, feel and grip. Works great in all weather conditions.

Cons: None

I bought this glove probably a year ago and have since bought 2 more because of how good they are.  They have lasted longer than other gloves I have used in the past.  They have just the right amount of tackiness.  They work great in wet and dry conditions.
