Semi Private Country Club

Pros: Well maintained

Cons: Peak season rates

Hamlet Willow Creek is just north of Pine Ridge golf course and one of my favorite to play. I don't dare play this course during the peak season since they don't have any discounted tee times during peak times. Off-season they have some really good foursome deals where you can tee off with a cart for $25/person. Course has a nice staff and it is kept in immaculate condition. The course is wide open for the most part but some holes have tight fairways with water on both sides. Love playing at this place since it's so well kept.

Not a Good Experience

Pros: Easy

Cons: Easy

I went at a bad time of the year so don't hold me to my opinion. The fairways were dried out and the greens were in decent shape for the rest of the course being dried out. The course is a links style course and with the fairways baked out the ball rolls on forever. Quite an easy course with it being so wide open and was not that fun. Blame may rest partly in my partner who was whining the entire time.

Interesting Course

Pros: Best Short Game Practice Area

Cons: Expensive Green Fees

I believe this location has the best short game practice area on the island open to the public. They have their own range to the left of the opening hole. The opening hole is the only hole that I do not like since it has the golf range netting to the left and houses to the right. Not much room to miss anywhere on that hole. Front 9 has a par 3 that is 240+ from the back with a slight helping breeze which is always an adventure. Good amount of water and good amount of elevation changes so overall a very fun course to play.

Great Feel

Pros: Softest glove right along with Titleist Players

Cons: Plain Look

Not a big fan of the plain white look but the feel and thickness of the glove is amazing!

Not the best municipal out there

Pros: Par 70 in the middle of NYC

Cons: Greens and tee boxes are not in the best conditions. SLOW

Not easy to put a par 70 course in NYC but they did it despite being fairly short. Greens have overhanging trees which denies them of sun and therefore some greens aren't very good at all. Tee boxes lack maintenance and also suffer from lack of sunlight as well. Probably one of the slowest courses at peak times.

Local municipal

Pros: Best kept muni in Queens

Cons: Short

Short and fun course that I have played most of my recent golf on. Par 67 and 5,500 yards. Best short game area in Queens that I know of that allows for chipping as well as putting. Greens are much better than any of the other munis.

Great Deals

Pros: fast greens fun layout

Cons: long drive from nyc

Great par 70 golf course and has the best deals for green fees which includes cart. This course usually always dominates me.

Pros: always kept in great condition

Cons: late twilight starts

5 courses to choose from and they all vary in difficulty. Bethpage Black needs no words. Red is challenging on both 9's, plays fairly flat. Blue front 9 is much harder than the back 9 with some blind tee shots for a good reward. Green is not bad with some long par 5's, some very elevated tee boxes, and huge greens.
