Volume Twenty-Three

I need help with my upcoming golf trip, so while you’re reading this week’s links, think of ways to help me prepare.

Hittin' the LinksOn Wednesday evening, I leave for southern Ohio for a quick three-day golf trip with a few of my buddies. There’s some good golf there, and I’m from the area. We’re playing 36 on Thursday, 36 on Friday, and 18 on Saturday. The last time I played 36 holes in a day was when I was 17 and in a golf tournament. I’m a little concerned about how my stamina will be. I haven’t played that much this year and I imagine it will be hot.

If anyone has any tips for me on how to keep my scores low and my stamina high, leave it in the comments. Now, on to the links.

Hole 1: Tiger for Mac
No, not another version of the OS, it’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 for Mac! Yippie! It’s old news, but is still exciting for all of us Mac users. [link]

Hole 2: Free Golf
Yes, I am from Ohio, but no I don’t subscribe to their politics. If I get free golf, you can be sure that I’ll be disclosing it to everyone. I love free stuff and talk all about it. [link]

Hole 3: Call Me Butter Cuz I’m on a Roll
Here’s something from the really weird file. A Tiger Woods sculpture made of butter. Hmmm. Interesting. It reminds me of a sketch Tom Green did on his show on MTV where he ate a whole stick of butter. *dry heaves* [link]

Hole 4: Bunker Babes
This could be the best column on the web. Bunker babes. Gotta love ’em. GolfPunk is on to something here. [link]

Hole 5: 427
427 yards is redonk. That’s a par 4. I don’t know if the technology is really to blame, but maybe, just maybe, we’ve got ourselves a case of steroids. I bet we’ll see Corey Pavin turn on his fellow tour players and write a book saying he was giving Tom Lehman shots in the butt. This story is developing! [link]

Hole 6: Blemished Balls
Mediaguru, I’m linking to you twice in a row here. I liked this post. I always play a ball until the cover is barely on it. Mostly because I hate to give a brand new ball groove marks. It might not look as pretty, but I’ve never noticed a difference in the performance. [link]

Hole 7: Who Cares?
I’m not even sure this was news. Would you stick around if you were the clubhouse leader and there were others who were all but guaranteed to come in at -4? Me neither. [link]

Hole 8: Who’s Your Pick?
I think I’ll pick Trip Kuehne. I’ve always liked him. Who’s your pick? [link]

Hole 9: Good Picks
I like these picks for the President’s Cup. I think Freddie and Justin are great clutch players who play well in this format. I don’t think you should pick a new comer as a Captain’s pick. They need to earn a spot to show they deserve to be there and can take the heat. The US squad is looking quite tough. [link]
