  1. Is it worth having a 5-day ProAm event on the Tour at this time of the year? Would not the money and infrastructure be better committed to maintaining a shorter tour that players would be interested in and would be a bigger draw?

    The Hope is verging on being an embarassment. With the exception of Mike Weir, no big names on either the pro or celebrity side. It’s a shame, it has a long and illustrious history – it used to signal the sunrise on a new golfing year – but that’s in the past. It seems no-one, players, fans or celebs, is interested any more. Maybe it’s time to put it to quietly and mercifully to sleep.
