Since winning the Masters on Sunday, I&#8217;ve received no less than four or five emails from Edwin Watts, TGW, and other online golf retail stores urging me to buy a second driver.<\/p>\n<p>Do these retail outlets think golfers are that stupid? Are golfers really that stupid?<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nYou don&#8217;t need a second driver, and here&#8217;s why: you can&#8217;t hit your existing driver well enough. Spend the $400 on lessons, keep your 3W in your bag, keep your lob wedge, and learn to score. Until you can play as well as Phil Mickelson, your &#8220;second driver&#8221; had better be the one you replaced two years ago with your current driver &#8211; key word being &#8220;replaced,&#8221; not &#8220;supplemented.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As for me, well, I&#8217;m boycotting any retail outlet that tries to get me to buy two drivers.
