\"ThrashThe month of September was dominated by two things in golf: Tiger’s continuous stroke-play winning streak and the European Ryder Cup domination<\/a>. Tiger won the Deutsche Bank Championship the first week of September and the WGC-American Express Championship the last week of September (it actually ended October 1st). Tiger said his streak ended when he lost in the World Match Play Championship, but it’s actually still going strong at six in a row.<\/p>\n

The 36th playing of The Ryder Cup was just as impressive in the month of September. The hype was higher than ever, and the performance of the Europeans was better than ever. Europe beat the United States in a landslide en route to winning The Ryder Cup for the third straight time.<\/p>\n

Was Tiger’s play good enough to outlast the great play of the European Ryder Cup team? Also, who else performed well in the month of September? European Ryder Cup Team<\/span> dominated the United States by a score of 18½ to 9½. The Europeans won all five sessions.<\/div>\n

Tiger Woods<\/span> won both of the stroke-play events he entered in September, but came up short in his two match-play events. He is still decent, by the way.<\/div>\n

The 36th Ryder Cup<\/span> showed once again why the event continues to be one of the best in the entire world of sports. I can’t wait for the 2008 Ryder Cup!<\/div>\n

Karrie Webb<\/span> won for the fourth time this season and is right on Lorena Ochoa’s heels on the LPGA Tour money list and for Player of the Year honors.<\/div>\n

Paul Casey<\/span> won the World Match Play Championship, moved to the top of the European Tour Order of Merit, and won three points in The Ryder Cup (including a hole-in-one on Saturday).<\/div>\n

Jim Furyk<\/span> won the Canadian Open for his second PGA Tour win of the season. He is the second best in the world in my book.<\/div>\n

Annika Sorenstam<\/span> won her third tournament of the season and continues to sneak up the money list (currently third place).<\/div>\n

Ian Woosnam<\/span> was criticized a little going into The Ryder Cup, but he quickly shut the critics up by coaching the Europeans to victory.<\/div>\n

Ben Curtis<\/span> Ben Curtis won for the second time this season and proved he isn’t a one-hit wonder or two-hit wonder.<\/div>\n

The Big Break VI<\/span> kicked into gear on The Golf Channel in September, and it should be interesting with Donald Trump constantly lurking.<\/div>\n

Cristie Kerr<\/span> won an event for the second consecutive month. After starting slow this season, Kerr is up to fourth on the LPGA Tour money list.<\/div>\n

Tom Lehman<\/span> seemingly did everything right with the United States Ryder Cup team, but his team took a beatdown nonetheless.<\/div>\n
