{"id":1872,"date":"2007-06-05T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-05T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesandtrap.com\/tours\/pga\/2007_memorial_pictures_the_others"},"modified":"2007-06-05T15:32:02","modified_gmt":"2007-06-05T19:32:02","slug":"2007_memorial_pictures_the_others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesandtrap.com\/b\/pga\/2007_memorial_pictures_the_others","title":{"rendered":"2007 Memorial Pictures: The Others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Memorial Tournament\" src=\"\/b\/imgs\/pga\/memorial_logo.gif\" height=\"120\" width=\"109\" \/>Last year, we looked at <a href=\"http:\/\/thesandtrap.com\/extras\/courses\/memorial_journal_day_one_-_muirfield_villages_defenses\" title=\"Muirfield Village's Defenses\">Muirfield Village&#8217;s defenses<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/thesandtrap.com\/extras\/swing_thoughts\/on_furrows_whining_and_winning\" title=\"Muirfield Village Furrows\">those pesky furrows<\/a>. This year, we didn&#8217;t do that quite as much as the bunkers were less of an issue and the course itself hasn&#8217;t changed much.<\/p>\n<p>So, filling out this year&#8217;s &#8220;Others&#8221; picture-heavy post, we have David Leadbetter and his mystery bag, a shot of the new bunker rake, and a pair of shots with no people in them whatsoever.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nCharles Howell III and David Leadbetter watch as Chuckie Three Sticks&#8217; caddie &#8220;rough rakes&#8221; the bunker behind the 12th green. Charles joked &#8220;did they make you attend &#8216;Rough Raking School&#8217; this year?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/b\/imgs\/pga\/2k7_memorial_raking_bunker.jpg\" height=\"605\" width=\"490\" alt=\"2K7 Memorial Raking Bunker\" class=\"bordleft\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year, Jack decided to &#8220;rough rake&#8221; the bunkers. Instead of tines spaced 2&frac12; inches apart, the tines were spaced 1&frac34; inches apart, which just resulted in slightly fluffier, softer lies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/b\/imgs\/pga\/2k7_memorial_bunker_rake.jpg\" height=\"243\" width=\"490\" alt=\"2K7 Memorial Bunker Rake\" class=\"bordleft\" \/><\/p>\n<p>See? Clearly you can escape these &#8220;rough raked&#8221; bunkers just fine. Word on the street is that the furrows will return next year &#8211; the bunkers played too easily this year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/b\/imgs\/pga\/2k7_memorial_bunker_blast.jpg\" height=\"415\" width=\"490\" alt=\"2K7 Memorial Bunker Blast\" class=\"bordleft\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A shot from behind the 18th green.
