\"adam_scott.jpg\"Adam Scott fired an opening round 63 on Thursday to take the lead of the Johnnie Walker Classic in Beijing, China. Retief Goosen, Michael Campbell and Peter Hanson also share the lead with Scott; however, their nine-under par total is after two rounds, while Scott has only completed one round due to a weather delay. He is scheduled to compete his second round on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Scott’s 63 set the course record at the Jack Nicklaus designed Pine Valley Golf Resort and Country Club. He finished his first round with birdie-eagle-birdie to get to 9-under.

\nWind is the weather condition that has delayed yet another golf tournament. Forty-two of the 154 players have finished their second rounds, while 78 players have yet to even begin the round. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday, so look for another Monday finish. Officials halted play as the winds reached 32 miles per hour and were blowing golf balls off of some of the non-wind protected greens.<\/p>\n

Hanson and Campbell shot 65 in their second rounds to follow first round scores of 2-under par. Goosen shot a second round 67 after opening with a 68. Hanson is continuing his hot play after winning last week in Andalusia, which is in contrast to Campbell who is coming off of a four-week break after only making one cut in all the events he’s entered this year.<\/p>\n

Other notables include Colin Montgomerie, who completed two rounds, stands at 6-under. Sergio Garcia shot a 67 in the first round and is yet to play his second round. Ernie Els, a two-time winner of the Classic, finished the first round at 71 and Nick Faldo, another two-time winner of the Classic, finished the first round at 75.<\/p>\n

Saturday is set to begin at 6:30 am, with 36 players scheduled to complete their second round. The 78 players who haven’t began their second rounds will start at 6:45 am. Once their round is complete, they will organize the pairings and hope to start the third round Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
