The only golf shoes I ever kept for 10 years were Allen Edmonds. Back in 1980, I had the opportunity to caddy at a pro-am. The golfer I was with got a gift basket which included a gift certificate for a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. He gave it to me, saying he had plenty of golf shoes. At the time, I think they were $350 to $400 depending on the style. Top of the line, way before athletic type shoes came along. The shoes were so comfortable, if they didn't have spikes, I would have worn them all the time. They wore out, Allen Edmonds discontinued manufacturing golf shoes, and wouldn't rebuild mine. I ended up tossing them out, but after 10 years, free shoes, I can't complain.

My golf shoes are so old, I'd have to look at them to see what brand they are. Spauldings? Maybe 25-30 years old if I were to guess.

They are still in good condition, only because I don't wear them hardly at all. Last time I put them on was at Bandon, last year, because it was raining. Needed the extra traction.

99 .999% of the time when golfing,  I wear tennis shoes, or my hiking shoes.

If you can find them, the Nike Lunar Control 4 is the best shoe I've ever worn

I had the original Lunar Controls and just recently got a pair of the Lunar Command 2s and like them both a lot.

Yeah, I think Nike makes a good product. I have narrow feet and they fit me really well and outlast any other shoes I've owned. Plus they look great.

I have tried them all.  They are made different and some brands just will not fit right.  First with me is comfort.  For the past 5 years I have been wearing New Balance golf shoes.  They come in wide and are very comfortable and light.  I would recommend replacing the innersole of your golf shoes and buying a good pair of innersoles, it makes a world of difference...

Bought a pair of Callaway chevron shoes 2 years or so ago, they have supports for the arc in each foot. They are more comfy than my everyday trainers. Not great in summer mind you so spent £18 on a pair of Woodworm golf Surge spikeless.

Woodworm are relatively new to golf as they specialise in cricket but the shoes aren't bad at all.
