The way Rahm and Fowler have played of late, I wouldn't lay a penny on them. I like Schauffele's odds at 25-1 and Spieth's at 18-1. Think those are good bargains. Of course, Koepka at 6-1, while super low, is still probably worth a few bucks. He'll probably win again.

I’m watching Speith playing the schwab. He’s making miles of putts, but announcer made a good point. He’s having to make those putts because his scoring irons are miles from the hole to begin with. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a hot day or two, but I would think he’s a longer shot than Xander or Molinari.

Not going to disagree about how they've been playing, but therein lies the problem with golf wagers; someone makes a swing change, or just puts it together and they have a great week.

Interesting article about the US Open. Didn’t know Mike Davis relinquished setup duties. A lot of complaining in the article from players so be prepared:

Phil's fiasco (and others) have exposed a deepening rift between the ruling body and the game's...

Thanks. Didn’t know this. I thought Davis did a solid job despite all the player complaints. He was able to make Merion tough and fair when everyone thought it would play super easy. Will be interesting to see how they set up Pebble as far as how narrow they will make the fairways and if they will grow out the rough more like they did ‘92.

I did not enjoy the Open last year at all. I am old enough to recall very narrow fairways and rough that made you think about you exactly need to play it. Skill was needed on all levels, not just on how far can you hit it to take all challenges out of play.

Shinnecock wasn’t a long course. Last year was as demanding as they come. Winning score was +1.

I'm not certain what happened at the sectional qualifier in Japan held Monday - but only 15 players are listed with scores for 2 rounds and 18 show as WD after posting a score for 1 round. There is a Golf Digest article which mentions the WD's, but really doesn't explain why it happened (it does state that it is not unusual for WD's at this sectional)

Sectionals is was were my journey to the US open ended several times. I found out how good touring professionals ( even lower level ones) really are at those events. Dudes who often have never seen the course before just roll out there and shoot 135...com'on man...
