At the Masters, Koepka was in the penultimate group, and missed a makeable birdie putt to allow Woods to make bogey to win.

Now in the US Open, exactly the same thing happens, only it's Woodland instead of Woods.

Laid a 66-1 bet on Woodland at the PGA.......damnit, I was one tournament off

I wanted Brooks to win. I’ll never see someone win 3 in a row in my lifetime.

What a chip by Woodland on 17, from the green no less. He deserves it...but damn. I wanted 3 in a row.

He still has the PGA he can do 3 in a row.

Congratulations to GW. Very very gutsy. Especially with BK breathing down his neck.

I have to say that this time and day, in the post Tiger dominance era there is not a more impressive player than Koepka.

So did Woodland mean to hit that chip on 17 so hard off the downslope? I didn't notice it until I saw a couple of replays, but it hit the downslope between the two sections of the green and took a huge hop forward.

Not the same, since Hagen won 4 in a row.

He can still win three in a row at the USO. Just has to start over. Wouldn't put anything past the guy.

Congrats to Woodland. It was just his week. Like I said, he's a very similar player to Koepka, he just doesn't have the major resume like Brooks has. Tournaments-wise, you could say he does.

Spieth had a good run there in 2015-16. Had a run of 5 majors where he went 1st-1st-4th-2nd-1st. And that 4th was one shot out of the playoff. Now comes the hard part for Brooks. He's been driving on adrenaline trying to prove doubters wrong and he's had an amazing run. Now he has to keep it going and try and win more majors and also win some PGA Tour events. Spieth had that hot stretch, too, but then lost the mojo.

Yes. There's a long way from that slope to the hole. And if he flew it farther, it still grabs but doesn't kick as hard, so it works out too.

Jeez, I would never try to hit a downslope like that. Too many variables. But I'm not a pro, and I don't play on greens like Pebble's.

Like I said, he could have landed it anywhere from there, to a bit short, to well long. He had a big area in which to land the ball.

Got it. As long as he lands it on or a bit past the downslope, he's fine. I wasn't thinking that. I was just thinking, holy crap, that took a huge first bounce.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
