I printed off my bracket today, the Accenture Match Play Championship has become one of my favorite events. Outside of the 4 Majors and The Players, this as good as we get. Hopefully we'll get a couple of good big name matches come this weekend, if not, I'll still be glued to the tube.

Anyone got some picks!?!?

Jones
TW has a great looking chance to breeze through his bracket into the final four. His #2 seed is Rory, a guy Tiger OWNS, the 3 seed, Choi might make a little noise. A nice 2nd round Pres Cup rematch with TW and Mike Weir possibly, that could be fun. My pick out of the Jones bracket is Tiger, but not without a tough fight from.....Paul Casey.

Player
Mickelson's the top draw but probably not the greatest match play guy in the world. With Justin Rose the #2 and Vijay #3, that is a pretty salty bracket. I'm going with the USA rock star Scott Verplank out of the Player.

Hogan
Ernie's playing and he's the 1 seed, tough company with Adam Scott (2) and Sergio (3). Defending champ is in this bracket at 4, this could possibly be the hardest of the 4 regions. I'll go with Henrik Stenson to represent SWE back in the final four again this year.

Snead
Former Match Play champ Steve Stricker is the 1 here, with Furyk 2, Paddy (3) and Angel (4) all fall and Luke Donald will come out of the Snead.

Tiger vs. Stenson
Verplank vs. Donald

Tiger will dispose of Henrik by hole 14 or 15 and Donald will hang on in extra holes against the gritty match play superstar Verplank.

Consolation match will have Verplank and Stenson in a dog fight, eventually Stenson will win the last 2 holes to take a narrow victory.

Tiger Woods vs. Luke Donald

2008 Accenture Match Play Champion (how can you not?).......Tiger Woods.

Now.....who you got?

I knew someone would say that, but you tell me who else you'd pick? I can sure sound like an idiot and say.....JERRY KELLY, my champ. But do you really think?

So I'm out on a limb, who you taking?

I will give you two names. First I will give you the answer to the argument of who is the better player when Sergio meets Adam Scott and beats him and goes on to get to the final. He will lose to the Match play champion who should not see any trouble and has a clear road to the final especially if Mickelson gets upset early. And the winner is Vijay Singh.

I'll pick some upsets. Chopra over Stricker, Villegas over Choi, Calc over Badds, Weekley over Kaymer.

Justin Rose to win it.

    • Day 312 - Better finishing position, fuller backswing, PRGR to see how swing speed was.
    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
