What irons? Ping G410

Tried them at the range and they are really easy to get airborne. It flies 10y longer then my normal 7, but it is 4 deg lower (so more like a 6).

Wont you consider the new T200s or T300s?

To be honest I never had any intention of getting Pings when I first went about buying some new irons.

The best thing I did was book in for a fitting and went with the club that worked best for me as well as what I felt comfortable with.

They are very nice irons. It was between them and Mizuno Hot Metals for me. I chose the Mizunos because they had more shaft options with no upcharge.

Bought a new set of G410’s today.  Hit them at the range.  Loved them.  Bought the G410 driver too.  That thing was awesome.  Had to order the sand wedge and lob wedge today.  2-3 month wait time.  Getting the g410 3 hybrid next.

Anything Ping makes is great, I just wish they hadn't added the feral but then again I'm old school. I still have G15s which I play sometimes. Go for it, you will not be unhappy.

I hit through a bag of G410's today my playing partner had ( we were almost alone out there and hit multiple balls). Besides being disturbingly thick , the offset made me over draw or hook everything, unless I tried to fade them, in which case they may have gone straight. Not for me.

But he shot a 75 playing his first ball on every hole. Me? Hell no. I shot 86 with him conceding putts I had a 50% chance of holing.

    • I would say 4 iron at this point in my golf career which would put that hole at 450. I think given a good drive of 250, I am making par half the time with 4 iron. Most par 4s for me its a 6 iron or less with the longest being 425 yards.
    • I never really considered myself a hoarder, but recently my wife pointed out just how much space my 'necessary', but never used, golf equipment was taking up.  Guilty as charged. I find it rather difficult to give up some of my old 'treasures', but practicality tells me to do so.  Plus if I do sell off some of my old treasures, I can buy new treasures.  LOL
    • Day 353 Warmed up hitting some 8-irons working on takeaway/backswing, and then did a superspeed workout.
    • I think the season's GHIN periods are good for my portion of western Washington. My home course gets pretty wet (some of my worm burner shots remind me of the Miss Budweiser hydroplane rooster tail from back in the day). Also, there's a lot of plugged balls in the fairway so I'm mostly playing lift, clean and replace. Wouldn't count towards handicap anyway.
    • This. Dude just play golf. If you have a consistent shot shape play it. Don’t think about score too much, stay out of the shit, call “The Zoo”. That kind of stuff. I’m trying to get down to scratch. I don’t add up my score until the end.
