NFL 2019-2020

You guys have it great compared to a fan of the Detroit Lions.   They have only won one, "1" playoff game since I've been alive!  The problem continues because people still flock to watch the kitty cats even though they are not competitive.  They should lose the Thanksgiving Day game and give it to a more deserving team.

Ready for my packers to get back to the playoffs,  hopefully, a healthy Rodgers for a full season will do

America’s team my old, hairy, white ass!    😁

Go Pack go! You fantasy guys may want your own separate thread.  Never understood the attraction of rooting for a bunch of individual players who aren’t on the same team, but to each his own.

That's all they have now. They've had some great players in the past but are really floundering now.

They have had some great players but treat them like crap.   Ask Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders.

No Lions game on Thanksgiving?  That does not compute.  Win or lose (and they do win occasionally) the Lions game is an integral part of the Turkey Day routine...for natives like myself.

This was posted on a local TV station's website.    I am no longer a fan and looking to enjoy a good football game regardless of the team.

The pre-draft hype and the Thanksgiving day game..pretty much the highlights of EVERY season for decades. We are pretty much out of the running come turkey day every year...like this year.. unless there is some divine intervention.

I like the traditional aspects of the Lions and Cowboys on Thanksgiving. In my opinion, the NFL would do better to have those games always be division rivals. Instead of Buffalo, the Cowboys should have had the Eagles, Redskins or Giants.

Actually, the addition of the third game is less welcome, because I'm always ready to crash by then.

The better question is who exactly would be lining up to fight for that spot? I detest having my players come back on less than four days. When one of my big boys is set to play that Thursday night game, bad stuff seems to happen. I'm sure the real-life game is even less pleasant for those sore bodies late in the season.

Cowboys are done and Garrett is Gone....

My brother hit me with the question last week, Dak or Josh Allen. I recommended Dak on concern with the Ravens D that Allen was going to face, but I felt really sick watching the Cowboys sputter Thursday night.

Happily, Dak still out-pointed Allen. So I turned out ok on that account.

The good news is that I drilled my brother's team in the semis and I'm into the the finals.

The bad is that my WR situation is a catastrophe and I'm facing the league's juggernaut.

Here's what I got and their matchup for Week 16

Robert Woods v. SF

Emmanuel Sanders v. LAR

Curtis Samuel v. IND

Sterling Shepard v WAS

I'll try to get Breshad Perriman off waivers for the game with Houston. But as 9th out of 10 on the waiver order, I'm not holding my breath.

Any thoughts?

Patriots cheating again:

Pretty damning. I'm with Strahan, etc. The advance scout is nowhere in the footage, and they're recording the field, etc.

Their record will always have an asterisk IMO.

Spygate II really is a weird and dumb deal.

On a level I kind of wonder if the Bengals at least changed their signals. Whatever they did, they threw four picks to my starting defense and that 19 points isn't coming off the board now.

The baffling thing to me is that they'd do something like that in such an obvious way. They could have put anyone in that stadium wearing Bengal gear with the equipment to do it. Nobody would have caught them.

Browns already looking tonight. Kitchens got canned before he even got on the plane home.

Wild Card Weekend--Pick The Winners

Patriots  Saints  Bills  Eagles

Tannehill has never won at New England

Minnesota weak spot is secondary-Saints Strength is passing game

Bills just good enough to win this one

Wentz and Wilson do their jobs, but Eagles do more with running game

    • Might be slow, but I'm sorta liking these guys...
    • Slow play is not keeping up with the group in front, unless its a group of really fast players.   The question is how to remedy it.  I play with guys who shoot high 70’s low 80’s whose pre-shot routines are intermidable.  In addition they are elderly and just move slow.  So as the young-un in the group I rush, especially on the green.  They play from the correct tees, it just takes them forever to go thru their routine.   Yesterday I played as a single.  Arrived at the course at 3 and was told to be off before 5 due to league play. I finished in 92 mins and played thru two other groups.  My goal is to not 3 putt and no 7’s on the card.  Shot 85. High scores does not automatically mean slow play.
    • Day 63, July 27, 2021: Three-quarter swing work again today, hey I may lose a little bit of distance, but I know where the ball is going. Rinse, Repeat, keep working on it kind of deal. I’m having small successes with the 3/4 swing so something must be working.
    • Day 153.  Before grocery shopping, I stopped at a putting green and worked for half an hour on 3' and 30' putts.  The end of the 3' practice included taking 17 shots to finish all 12 for my clock drill (not great, but not as bad as a month ago) and the 30' finished with my final six putts from 30' (due to this green, they weren't significantly different on the clockface, so I'm still getting a similar read, but I know better than to assume it.  And of course, I had to hit them the right speed) with a total of 11 strokes (five 2-putts and I also sank one). After lunch and before gym, I did the quarantine days 9 (again, with feedback from yesterday) + 10 (which took a while to get right... I'm not even sure I got it right, video to show up later today). Addendum:  I haven't figured out my trigger for the day 10 practice plan.  That's going to take me a bit more thought
    • MD: 89 (Black/Orange combo tees): 89. Up and down sandy on 17th was nice. One of my better sand shots of the week.  SV: 98 (Black tees).. Tough day. Bit too much of a course for me from black tees. Drive on 18 uphill was a bright spot that stood out though.  SV: 89 (Orange tees).. phew.. much better. 2nd shot on 16 uphill from 198 out over bunker with a borrowed 3 iron (thanks @DeadMan.. :-)) that dropped and stopped within a two feet for a kick-in might be the shot of the week for me.  LL: 92, 92 back-to-back on the same day. Tried my darndest hard to break 90 but couldn't twice. Best shot 8 iron on 7th par 3 from 155 for a bird.  Lac La Bell: 107. Forgettable day score-wise except for holes 15-16 where I finally hit couple of good drives.
