Even the TXG guys are making fat jokes (which I don't really approve of, for multiple reasons). "You didn't have to eat your fiance to do it", and "The local store still has milk".

This is a great video otherwise. Cool to see Matty try something with low loft and really try to optimize launch for distance.

Dang, last few months I lost muscle mass, he gained a lot.  And I was doing so well at the gym the first ten weeks of the year.  Well, Bryson already motivates me for pace of play (to avoid being compared to him), maybe now he will help me be more motivated to work out.

I can't imagine doing six hours a day though.

Bryson must be a silicon-based lifeform. Cold, calculating, and now feeding off the computers and data to grow stronger.

He honestly looks like a teenager who suddenly hit puberty while working on a farm. Went from a beanpole to beefy in six months or less, and the scenario I described is the only other place I've seen such dramatic transformations occur. It's funny to picture Bryson out in a field stacking bales into the haywagon either way.

Bulking and cutting is pretty common in lifting. There are debates over whether it’s good for you, but a lot of it comes down to sustainability and each individual’s fitness goals.

The only thing that’s really novel about this situation is how it’s being applied to golf, a sport where people think flexibility is ideal and bulk is bad. Again, I’ll bring up that long drive guys tend to be bigger people, with Jamie Sadlowski being the exception (and becoming well known because of that). World #1 Kyle Berkshire is on the smaller side at 6’3, 198lbs. Everyone else on the top 10 is >215lbs. So it’s actually well established that size is an advantage for generating speed, but Bryson is putting it in the spotlight by doing it on the PGA Tour and actively changing his body to accomplish it.

This is one of the sillier questions I've seen in a while. Of course there is. The PGA Tour's Anti-Doping Manual is 50 pages long.

https://www.usga.org/championships-hub/additional-entry-resources/doping-policy-and-drug-testing.html#:~:text=Compliance%20with%20the%20drug%20testing,PGA%20Tour's%20Anti%2DDoping%20Program.

The PDF is in that USGA link, BTW.

This is one of the sillier responses I have seen in awhile.

If there is anyone that gained a ton of muscle that I don’t think is on steroids, Bryson would be it.

that dude is a f***in nut. I don’t think he has any issue committing 6 hours a day to working out. He’s just that type of guy.

I don't think steroids were used either, if anything was used and i doubt it was, it would have been growth hormone which is not tested for. Btw 6 hours a day working out doesn't build more muscle than one hour a day, if anything it would be counterproductive for most people. That sounds like "how did such and such movie star get so big for this movie" bs to deflect from the fact they almost certainly used performance enhancing drugs.

I genuinely think he just worked out, ate lots of good food and grew.

This definitely has me excited to get back in the gym (when it is safe to) and to keep pushing hard. I think I could do with adding a bit of speed work on top of all of the strength training I do.

I mean, you kinda asked if a major sport had an anti-doping protocol...

I know pictures can be misleading, but when were these two taken?  If the latter is very recently, his body fat percentage looks to me more than 15% on the right (can still see abs), and no less than 10% on the left. Doesn't look to me it's total beer gut at least.

Huh?

You asked a dumb question. He gave you a good response instead of just saying "ummm, yeah, duh."

The one on the right is prolly closer to 20% which is still actually pretty decent

Man, I really don't think it's much of a beer belly. The transformation has been pretty crazy to say the least. Here's a before and after. (FYI I don't know when the before was taken, but I do know the after was taken off his Instagram less than a month ago.)

Am I the only one who thinks he looks really young in the picture on the left? Like maybe that's a pretty old picture?

I do not agree.  An insult is not a good response.  "Yes." would have been a good response.

Why should Erik keep out of this? Your response is odd. It was not an insult.

Calling your question silly is not an insult. Anything you read into that is no fault of mine. I ask stupid questions all the time, only I feel stupid afterwards when someone gives me the answer I probably should have known already instead of feeling insulted that someone found my question stupid.

You asked a very naive question. Not only would it have been safe to assume the PGA Tour has a doping policy like every other major sports organization, but the question itself could have been easily answered simply by looking it up yourself.

Come on bro. You didn’t find that answer to be insulting. ‘Sillier question’ is not insulting . Ignorant, maybe. Silly? Nope. Zero. Move along now ... nothing to see here.
