Crossed off another birdie on the first hole today! I hit a drive down the right side of the fairway, then came up just short with my 8I approach. I felt good about getting it up-and-down, and it just happened to go in with perfect speed. That makes 8/18 birdies. It was on the no. 4 rated hole on the course too, so it was nice to get a tougher hole out of the way.

I really want to birdie the eighth hole. It’s a short par-4, but it’s the only hole I’ve not birdied on the front in the 2 1/2 years I’ve been a member at my home club, and I’ve played it probably a hundred times, so I’m bound to get one at some point. I’ve had several good looks on that hole, but nothing’s been dropping. I’ll get it soon.

Added hole 17 to my away course composite. Played Moon Brook CC last week and birdied four holes, I think. Three were duplicates.

picked up a bird on 16 yesterday.  a 316 yard short par 4.  but can be tricky with grass mounds obstructing your view on approach if you're on the right side of the fairway, and a lot of sand guarding the green.

hit a 3w down to the left where the view isn't obstructed, pitched a nice little sand wedge to 5 feet, made the putt.

Added #12 to the composite page. I tried to cut the corner of the dogleg left, but caught the lip of the bunker, which slowed the ball down and left it on the downslope past the bunker, so I had a really low shot that bounced on and settled about 6 feet from the pin and then made the putt.

I nearly also added #15, a 175yd par 3, the ball was tracking the flag but came up 15 feet short, and the putt came up 4 inches short.  I only need #14 and #15 on the composite sheet: the home course is another story (still 10 holes needed).

Made another birdie today, but it was a repeat of the ninth hole. At least I’ve been playing that hole well. I think that’s the fourth or fifth time I’ve birdied there.

I only played the front nine today (black tees). Birdied three. Duplicate.

Didn't make any birdies yesterday at my "home" course, but I made birdie today on the 17th at an away course, which is a new one.

A repeat of #4.  Eight holes to go.  Several repeats but playing different courses creates unique challenges.

Update 7/6/20 - third round of the year at home course.  I picked up a bogey at #2 and a par at #7, improving both.  I see I had given myself credit for a par at 10 that I can't remember making, but I bogeyed it yesterday so I reset it to bogey.

Three rounds, one birdie, ringer score of +7.  Got to improve all of that!

Had four birdies today and crossed off the 9th hole in the challenge.
Down to the final one on the final hole #18 at my club.
Hope I can make it this month and complete the challenge ...

Played the 7th round at my local 9 hole course this morning.  Still 2 holes left to par for my par challenge.  Today was the second round in a row i didn't scratch one off the list.  And its also the second round in a row I 3 putted a GIR on one of the remaining holes.  Hope to knock the pars out soon and keep going with the birdie challenge.

9.5 rounds in, and I still need 1, 2, 4, and 8. 1 will be tough, 8 won't be easy, but 2 and 4 I should get at some point.

I knocked off 18 today by slightly pulling a drive 296 to 104, and from a downhill, sidehill lie hit a partial PW to three or three and a half feet. I knocked it in with the back of my (rounded) putter. 😉

I'd commented on nine tee that I don't really care anymore until we got to 18. 🙂 It's partially true.

Blue tees.

Picked up 2 new birdies yesterday.

Hole #10, Par 4.  394 yds

Well hit driver down the right side of the fairway, flirting with the trees on the right just a bit, but safe. There was a breeze in my face, which I thought was a fill club.  but wasn't quite.  hit an 8 iron on the back side of the green (pin in front).  drilled a 30 ft. downhill slider for Birdie.

Hole #7, Par 5.  499 yds

about a 1 club breeze at my back.  Hit Driver right down the pipe.  then hit a 5-iron over the ravine on to the fringe.   knocked that 50+ foot putt from the fringe to about 4 feet, and drained for Bird

Birdied the 2nd hole today at my "home" course. Popped up and slightly pulled a 3w off the tee and had 153 left to the flag on an elevated green. Had plenty of room to hit up over the tree in front of me, choked down on a full 8i and hit it to tap-in distance.. The ball mark was 2' short of the hole and the ball ended up just past the hole, so I think there was a chance it could have holed out.

That's 6 birdies (one repeat) in 7 rounds now at this course.

Also finally parred the 4th and 8th holes, so just a par on the 10th left to complete the par challenge. Those are the #3 and #1 handicap holes. I can count on one hand the number of times I have made par on the 8th.

I thought I was going to knock another off of my list but...

Since the last time I have played Timbers, they have switched the 9s.   I did birdie #12 which was #3 but that is a repeat.
