Says who?  Still rockin' TW13 here.  It's just like with running--you gotta rotate your shoes.  I try to play black shoes, white shoes, and brown shoes and rotate them.  Sometimes i might even treat myself and get a grey pair.

Not sure about the Nike thing. But I'm a big fan of the rotating shoes thing. I always bring at least 2 pair to any tournament, so I can rotate them. I think it makes my feet feel much better.... maybe it's psychological, not sure.

Not to keep harping on this, but I have owned a fair share of golf shoes. If you want quality, comfort and balance in your golf swing, there really is no better choice than True.

I have to agree with you on this. I used to be an Ecco guy, but I've converted now.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Same here, I had my Adidas 360 for 6 years.  Got rid of them when they started to leak.  Nike’s I have cost me $25 and I’m going on season 2.  I prefer plastic replaceable spikes which is my top priority.

I only have one pair of shoes and play 3 times a week.  Practice the other days so they get plenty of wear.

Just bought my third pair of Trues.  I really wouldn't consider anything else at this point.  They're the most comfortable shoes--not just golf shoes--I've ever worn.

I've been wearing True Originals for a couple months now, and I have to say they're the best golf shoes I've had. The zero drop sole took a little time to get used to since it feels a different. The heel is snug on my foot, so to get my heel to sit down on the sole without folding the inner liner on itself I use a shoehorn. Water proofing has been great so far, and my home course gets really sloppy in rainy season.

I'll probably buy one of the lighter knit models for when things dry out.

I've got Majors that I bought last year and a pair of Originals on the way.  I don't remember what my first pair was but they lasted a long time.

I must golf on some different golf courses. I hardly ever see folks playing in golf specific shoes.

Most are wearing some sort of tennis shoe. That, or like myself, a comfortable, water proof,  pair of walking shoes, with a some what aggressive sole. Mine are also 3/4 toppers.

It's gotta be completely different in the desert.   I rarely see people golf w/o golf specific shoes in Michigan.

What do you guys think of spike-less shoes?

The old shoes I have certainly lose spikes after a while, but I've never tried to play in spike-less before.

Friends of mine have them and feel they are good but have slipped on wet grass. I for one want spikes which I can change, my shoes last a long time.

I was reluctant to try spikeless for a very long time. Finally tried some and they've become my primary choice.  They can slip, but have rarely.  And the new designs are much better at maximizing traction.  I have some Adidas Code Chaos coming in this Thurs, accordingly to Amazon.. so it's virtually a lock that a 64 is in store for the weekend.

They are far more comfortable on and (especially) off the grass.

I wore metal spikes in the twilight of their life.  The day I switched to soft spikes I slipped on two slopes near the tee box.  I learned quickly.  Haven't slipped since.  Though I have a friend who slips about 4 times a year, especially in the winter.  Especially when he's inputting info into his iphone as he leaves the green.

Yeah. I have to figure that they wouldn't encounter very much "dew' in the desert southwest!

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
