While all eyes were on the Masters this week, a rumour that won’t go away was growing louder: that...

Really hope this story isn’t true. Ugh.

I wouldn't bet on it.

But maybe he figures his competitive career is over given his recent results, so… 😉

The current buzz his might switch caddies. A possible call to Stevie Williams maybe? He hasn't won a major with Diamond on the bag, maybe a call to JP to come back? He's got to do something or Greg might up the ante. Could you imagine Chamblee the day that happened?

I really like seeing more big names signed by liv. What I like most about liv is that they have a philosophy that players and caddies all get paid for their time in the game.

They paid the caddies the first year but haven't since. That's on the players again.

Also, nobody else seems to want to see big names… because they're out of sight, out of mind until they come back and play in a major. If they're qualified for it.

PGAT is all about Scottie right now and rightfully so. The PGAT has it's star right now and some potential good guys hoping Scottie takes some time off.  The LIV guys are of the radar until the PGA. There will be the Rory/ Hovland rumors to keep the fire smoldering until then.

You will probably get your wish as time moves on. What I like most about LIV is they are funded by a regime that has numerous human rights violations and the players don't seem to care. The fans certainly don't seem to mind. I admit, I went to LIV Miami to check it out, it wasn't empty.  I didn't see anyone protesting.

"Golf is often called a gentleman's game because of its emphasis on etiquette, sportsmanship, and respect for fellow players and the course. Golfers are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that includes honesty, integrity, and consideration for others on the course."

it amazes me for the right number, how quickly people will forget human rights violations, compromise their integrity and virtues all in the name of "growing the sport" (which we know not to be true)

Well, Rory nipped those rumors in the bud:

Rory McIlroy says he will play on the PGA Tour "for the rest of my career" as he quashes rumours of him making a big-money move to LIV Golf.

I suppose you never know, but it's a stark contrast from how, for example, Cam Smith handled the rumors. Feeling much better about this today.

Frankly, one could be forgiven for thinking there was some truth to the rumor as seemed like he was laying the groundwork for a while with his softened stance on LIV.

He’s just tired of fighting. And being asked. And just tired.

I hear ya. The defacto leadership seems to have cost him at many levels including his day job performance and nari a dime to show for it.

And by 'growing the game' they mean growing their bank account.  It's just a weak and stupid rationale.

I see that guys like Rahm and Phil are suggesting they now play 72 holes. They appear to be conceding that their circus is viewed as less than a true competitive event. Rahm was a whiney bitch all weekend at Augusta. Regrets?

I all but guarantee Rahm is having second thoughts. Just my opinion of course.

Here's something to chew on. Not much to it, but apparently the ideas being tossed around.

LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman said he is open-minded about the idea of moving to a traditional 72-hole format, though he explained that the Saudi-backed circuit would need to evaluate the impact of adding an extra round to its...

    • Day 66 (15 May 26) - Played in Friday men’s shootout - solid round of 81 (39/42) 7 of the 11 pars were up and down 1 putts (29 total).  Short game came to the rescue….
    • Thanks, Matt, for the AI summary.   I found the probability interesting.   It was mentioned that the host talked to a college coach, and no college coaches were knocking down his door trying to recruit him.   He was on the JV team last year, this year being the only time on varsity.
    • I started taking my son with me when he was 2-1/2 but only with my regular group.  I asked before I started taking him if they were ok with it.  Everyone was ok with it and they let him ride with them often. And, they had permission to scold him if he was doing anything wrong.  I think the first time I took him and played with strangers he was almost 4.  By then, he knew golf etiquette and was very well behaved.   If the father of the kid in question here did not take proper measures to control the kid...it is not the kid's fault.  The father should know better.  Being the type of person I am, I would have probably politely said something to the kid myself and if the father was not taking care of any mess he made in bunkers I would have definitely asked "Hey, you going to rake the mess he made? How would you like to land in there and have to play your next shot from there?"
    • Day 591 - 2026-05-15 Worked on things while watching the PGA.
    • One has to wonder what in the world could be going thru her mind standing over the ball and with each one of those take aways and not hitting the ball.  My brain would lock up completely.  If she played with the guys and gals I play with someone would inevitably yell "While we are young" (which we are not) or "just hit the damn thing"
