I thought Tiger might do something here the way he started out, but he's sitting at even par after two rounds. For whatever reason he's never done well at Riviera.

When Tiger was briefly T2 on Thursday I texted someone excitedly. Everything since then as been my fault.

Almost surely.

Not JUST you. The worm's eye view on TV of a 6 footer from behind the putter can add quite a few to a player's final score. Those putts are always going to miss, no matter who it is.:-)

Tigers only 15 shots back. He's got a shot. Has a better chance of playing pick up sticks with his butt cheeks, but he's got a shot.

He’d really have to activate his glutes.

Lots of wild scorecards amongst the leaders. Birdies and bogeys and doubles and eagles.

I bought pga tour live to watch Cat on thurs/fri after he started going low on the front nine Thursday.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- as much as I love getting to see Tiger  during this stretch of the season, I kind of wish he would forego the west coast swing for the sake of his health. It’s too cold along the Pacific this time of year for his back/joints- 45 degrees when he teed of Friday isn’t what his body needs.

They should have a Northern Swing this time of year. Play indoor golf like the rest of us suckers.

I have been looking at irons all winter, but I have been told three times that the launch monitors are not that accurate. Here they are short, so are the one’s on TV long? Are they really hitting that Maverick 345 yards?

What launch monitors are you talking about and who told you that?

They are using Trackman for the launch characteristics they show on TV like ball speed, carry, etc. so yes some of the longer hitters can absolutely reach 345 yards and Trackman is one of the top end launch monitors that exists right now especially when used outside to track the entire ball flight so yes I'd say it is very accurate.

Since nobody else seems to want to talk about anything other than the guy who finished DFL of those who made the cut, allow me to be the one to congratulate Adam Scott on a solid win!

Rory had a good tournament too, until the wheels fell off halfway through the front 9 on Sunday.

    • Okay, here's another Garmin related one. I have a Garmin G80 with a launch monitor. I could drop it on the ground about 1 foot away from the ball. It will measure estimated carry distance, swing tempo, and smash factor, swing speed... blah blah blah. Say I just want to check my swing tempo because something doesn't feel right. It won't emit a beep or anything that will aid me. I just make my shot as normal. Would using it that way be legal in any round other than a round with "Muppet rules" that doesn't get reported.
    • Aren't smartphones banned on tournament days?  How can so many people be blatantly using them?
    • Our course was re-rated three years ago and I questioned the ratings then. It inflates players Handicaps, IMO. I contacted USGA and they directed me to our local affiliate Metro Am. When I emailed them, I simply requested a copy of the rating notes. I then received a email from our clubs GM who is the PGA - District 7 Director, 2019-2021, PGA of America "the rating notes are not permitted" IMO, the Combo Course tee selections make no sense on the BLU/WHT. The front side players move forward to the white on 3 par 4's On the back, they move up on 6 holes. 2 - par 4's both par 5's and both par 3's.  Anyway, I have 15 years with 7K rounds recorded and the scores at the blue are almost equal at the Front and Back Rows are Gold, GLD/BLK, Black, BLK/BLU, Blue, BLU/WHT, White, RED/WHT and Red The three I highlighted have a significance slope difference.
    • I've been Playing Golf for: 4 months My current handicap index or average score is: 35-40 My typical ball flight is: Push or Draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Duffs and Tops   Hi All   Been playing for a few months and really struggle with tops, duffs, just not striking it well at all.   I pretty much spray balls all over the fairway too but not to fussed about that at the minute.  Been to see a coach and he showed me a few things.  He wanted me to attack the ball on a steeper plane, move my head less and shift my weight more/come forward when I swing.  I've already started to implement the changes and they're paying off.  Still struggle to make good connection with the ball, and the distance is all over the place.  The coach said I should be able to hit a 7 iron 155-160 (instead of the 130-140 I hit it now) with my swing speed when I'm going for it, but whenever I try to go over what feels like 60-70% I cant make contact.  The few times I have struck it really well when I swing hard I'm knocking the ball miles but it's so few and fair between it's not worth it.    I have started to try and swing in as big of a arc as possible and that seems to have improved my striking a lot.  And a friend mentioned today that I'm not holding the my lag long enough in the down swing, but I'm not really sure how to address that, or whether I even should at this stage. Any help much appreciated   Cheers     Videos:  [Delete this, Embed Videos Here - https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/embed-videos/]
