I want to go to the Masters this year. Most likely the Mon. or Teu. practice round.

The tix prices on seat geek or stub hub are like 900-1200. Prices on Craigslist are a little less.

Curious is anyone knows about just scalping tickets outside the designated free zone? If I were to show up Monday morning, wondering what my chances are of getting tickets?

Thanks for any feedback!

When I went in 2000, a guy offered me a couple grand for my badge, showed me the wad of cash. I kept walking. I had to sign for the badge at the MP station at Ft Stewart where I was stationed and return it that evening. So, the couple of grand he offered wasnt enough for me to go AWOL and retire in Thailand, I returned it. LOL

Welp - now what do I look forward to?

Seriously, my question related to all the schools here closing, and sporting events, conventions, etc. What has to happen for these to reopen?
I certainly hope that someone has set "exit parameters" so they don't just look at a calendar and say everything is okay

The CDC, etc. will advise people.

I selfishly breathe a huge sigh of relief.  Normally, we welcome folk from the four corners of the world with open arms (a lotta local people make a lotta $$ MastersWeek) but this year, I've been dreading since I first heard of this trouble.  Presently, the CentralSavannahRiverArea is free of the very real threat of a more populated area.  Imagine how much it would affect area if the thousands were here on every corner, course, restaurant, homes and local festivals.  Sorry but it's proactive action like the others now.

I’m kind of hoping they don’t reschedule for later in the year. As much as I love the Masters it would just feel weird for it be played in the Fall or the dead of Summer.

I hope its that simple, but you are talking about thousands of companies, schools, and events - I doubt they are going to have specific guidelines for each situation.
When would you go on a cruise, when should the senior living centers allow visitors, when can K-12 schools open, colleges, major events in stadiums ... and it differs, somewhat, by community as some will be hard hit and others will have much lessor impacts.
It is easy for a governor (or sport commissioner) to cancel everything, but I get the feeling you don't turn it all back on at the same time.

Nobody says you would.

Listen to the CDC, do as they advise considering your local situation.

Why not? Seriously. If people can discipline themselves to stay put it should be enough time for all. I would think individual orgs can decide to extend if they find necessary.

I doubt if this stops spread altogether. But surely this should bring it down where hopefully the health care system can manage it without being overwhelmed - very realistic scenario if the spread doesn't slow down significantly from all accounts. Also a huge part of the battle is identifying most of those who are pregnant with the virus but have not manifested. I think this goes a long way in let it play out without further spread.

Jack Nicklaus said he thinks they will cancel it altogether. I also think the PGA Championship and US Open are also in doubt given both are in California and New York, two big states that already have a lot of people with the virus. But I think Nicklaus is right in that it will likely just be cancelled.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
