If all that stuff is true, I think it's Greg Norman that comes off as a dick. So, is it true or is it not? As self absorbed as some people are these days, it makes you wonder.

I don’t get it. Is he trying to be funny? Because he just comes off as a dick.

It's dead-pan humour. It's not slapstick. It's irony.

What do you mean? Is what true?

It is a genuine competition that Greg Norman has started. It's real.

Club Pro Guy is a fictional character who is just making fun of him because it's such a dick move by Norman who is desperately trying to remain relevant.

No, I understand the humor, but it’s his delivery that makes him seem like a dick.

No. if you don't get the delivery, then you don't get "dead pan" humor, because that is a dead pan delivery!

Just because you don't get it, doesn't mean it can't be gotten. And since @leftybutnotPM pointed out that this desperate cry for attention from GN is actually real, I think the bit was brilliant. I'm with @bwdial . Absolute gold!

If the "competition" is still open, I might enter. Back in college, a communications prof wanted me to enter the journalistic world. I can write pretty well when I put my mind to it. I'm sure that I could cobble together 7,500 words of intellectual flatulence that would stroke his ego enough to stand out from the dozen or so entries this is bound to attract! I think I stand a good chance. Wait a minute. What's the first prize again?

No, I watched his other videos, he’s just not funny.

This is deadpan and funny:

Obviously there can be no "right or wrong".

His Holly Sonders and "Vegas Dave" thing is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I think he's hilarious.

It's because his instructional videos are so similar to the real thing.

"The Streak" is a work of genius.

I think he’s really hit or miss. He does some funny graphics on Twitter, but some of his schtick is way over played now.

He’s become far more “hit or miss” of late. He just puts out so much content and there are only so many times you can parody the same topics without becoming stale.

That said, some of his earlier videos were incredible. His partner selection flowchart video for your member guest was one of my favorites. Ditto his learning center interview with Roberto Castro, his “secondary swings” breakdown, and many more.

And his podcast appearance on No Laying Up was probably the funniest 30 minute interview I have ever listened to.

CPG is petty damn brilliant but I think he should dial back on the content and leave the people wanting more.

    • I do not follow amateur or Korn Ferry tour but this story might get me to pay attention. At age 15 to be as accomplished as he is makes me think we may be seeing a future star.  A story of him breaking out may help reinvigorate golf viewership. Miles Russell has a hot start, cools off but finishes with a 68 in first Korn Ferry event Miles Russell, a 15-year-old Jacksonville Beach resident, made his Korn Ferry Tour debut on...
    • Day 8: Indoor backswing work, mostly rehearsals of takeaway. Hit some balls wtih 6-iron working on adding flow, but not too Much which I tend to do, swaying too far away from target.
    • Day 55: 4/18/2024 Got to the range again today. Planned to do my priority pieces and then hit targets with irons. But after my priority pieces I hit a few drives and tugged them all hard left. .... Uh... oh boy.  So, I spent about a half hour trying to hit targets at the range with my driver.

    • OPPs, I guess I have been doing the drill incorrectly, just ignore this.  But as they say, mistakes are learning opportunities. Let’s hope I can learn from mine.
