We still have some golf, including at the course where I'm supposed to play in league this year. I have no idea if that's going to happen.

I'll tell you one course where it WON'T happen! Well, I honestly don't know if I should display their name. It's a local course that we really like, a Brian Huntley design. He's out of Canton, OH and has done a few courses in this area. The front nine is mostly like playing through a housing development, but there are a few holes where you can get away from that. The back nine is like playing through a nature preserve! It's gorgeous! And tough!

They sent an e-mail saying they were open and outlining their COVID-19 precautions. First of all, they were charging "in season" rates in March, in NE Ohio, where it's mudball, plugball! Then to have a cart by yourself would only cost you 10 bucks more! Per nine! Are you serious?!

We scratched that one off our list. We wont' go back until they come to their senses, which they may never do. The course is extremely popular, and put a locally owned course that was quite nice, out of business shortly after it opened. So, I figure that they rule the roost down there.

Good PR is not found in charging more for a single cart in these times.  As far as the regular season greens fee rate, I understand that.

So, presently in the UK we are allowed our for one bit of exercise a day with a family member, but allowed to play golf. In short, I can go for a walk with my wife in a park, but I can't do the same thing and hit a golf ball. I just think the government don't want us to enjoy ourselves.

My bit of exercise is now limited to a walk around my circuit.... or exposure in the supermarket. Forget golf. It's done indefinitely out here.

A group of golfers in western Michigan has started a letter campaign to open golf courses with restrictions.  A copy is posted in the Michigan club.    It may be worth everyone's trouble to start a campaign in your state.

My state said flat out "No".  Not that they're opposed to fresh air activity, with social distancing, but that the employees of a golf course did not fit the "essential worker" dictum.

Golf has been slightly changed here. Mainly just the clubhouses being closed. For instance, my club is not open for non members but members can still play. The clubhouse will be closed, but they will bring out any orders that you make to your cart and charges will be added to your account so no money has to change hands. Driving ranges are still open at most courses but you have to get the tokens from inside. These clubhouses are allowing 1 person inside at a time to get tokens in that case.

    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
