Unfortunately it looks like all the Greene county courses are staying closed. I'm going to Yankee Trace this morning. Will let you all know how it is.

I know Beavercreek is shut. Did you try calling WGC? Nothing on their web site says they are closed.

Was actually thinking about giving WGC a shot. It's been ages since I was last out there and my mom lives on that end of town.

I work in Pittsburgh, live in WV, and play golf with a group in OH. All for the last 8-9 years. So I joined the club!

Springhills in East Springfield, Ohio is open.

It is a short course, nothing special. But they are known for having the best Pro Shop around.

Just up the road from the infamous Steubenville Big Red.

How do you figure?

They have the ability to open the courses and fulfill the terms of the contract and they decided not to.

They are not fulfilling their end of the deal.

Pretty simple.

They need to open em up to priv 2 only lol. No money changes hands and a quick flash of the card. I'd be playing 54 a day if it were that empty though. Would be dead by the end of the weekend

Priv 2 my butt. Backwards as the City of Dayton may be, they can take credit card payments from anybody.

Having a no cash policy is reasonable in these circumstances and something they could do if they wanted. They just can't be bothered.

Then again, your having a priv. 2 just means you got more money sunk in this than I do. So ... sorry.

That's the problem I have with the online thing. If they were to do it I would assume they would charge me which would be utter bullocks since all of my rounds for the year should be "free"

I assume the city issued you a standard id card. You'd just call them to set a tee time and show up.

If a starter is actually on duty you tell him your name, show them your card and that ought to sort it.

Yankee Trace was decent today. The course was in good shape. It was slow, maybe because everyone had to walk. 4.5 hours with a lot of waiting. It was great to get out, first time in about 6 months. I played like it. I had a decent stretch of 4-5 holes but struggled big time all around. Hope to play again next week!

That doesn't answer my question: what contract?

My membership.

I advanced them a lot of money.

They provide golf courses for me to play on.

Sorry thought that was obvious. Clearly, I'm not thinking about a lawsuit here. But nearly every other course in this area is open, so they aren't having any problems with Ohio's guidelines.

MVGA posted that all Greene County Courses are closed. Their health board is not in agreement with the state.

And if there were, I would guess that a national emergency being declared would be an exemption.

I paid money to the City of Dayton in exchange for the ability to play on six specific golf course. They have failed to provide those golf courses. It is most definitely a contract under definition b.

    • Most of my rounds are at 4,200 ft, at sea level that 3W is probably 15ish yards shorter.  I’m not as long as it sounds, unfortunately.  I would utilize the 3W on more than just 14 tee shots (2nd shot on par 5s, choke down for some 190-230 shots, hit some low punch shots). I’m certainly not saying you’re thinking about anything wrong (as far as your game and selection), I was hung up on the “terrible option” comment.  I really like my driver and hybrid as well, if this were a 6 club challenge I’d swap out the 3W for the driver and hybrid all day.  But alas, we only get 5 clubs.
    • The handicap season is over. You should have told him you can warm your balls with whatever you want 😜
    • On my home course I’d take driver, 3-hybrid, 7-iron, SW, and putter. Driver is debatable, because I only hit it 3-4 times per round, so I could probably bring a 3W and drop 3-hybrid and rearrange the irons/wedges (3W, 5-iron, 8-iron, SW, putter). But driver gives me the best chance to score well on the par-5 holes (longest is 505 yards), and I wouldn’t want to give that up, since these holes are where I make birdie most often.
    • Say a prayer for our state: From M-Live: Michigan reported 15,385 new COVID-19 cases, about 7,693 a day, and 351 deaths on Tuesday, Dec. 7 and Wednesday, Dec. 8. Over the last seven days, Michigan reported an average of 7,203 new, reported cases and 108 new deaths. These are up from 5,980 new cases per day and 71 deaths a week ago. State data, last updated Friday, Dec. 3, shows 65.8% of residents 12 and older have received at least a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The state is now seeing the greatest number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients since the start of the pandemic. Previous highs were set in the spring of 2020.
    • Day 130: Cold and drizzly outside so continued working on cupped wrist backswing feel to keep club from going too much inside, and also working on transition move. Transition feels good in slow rehearsal, and okay striking balls at slow speed, but hasn’t translated to 100% speed well yet.
