The numbers are ticking up for daily vaxxing, from what I read.  So that’s some good news.   My wife and I can’t wait for the under 12 to be approved.   It drives us crazy that non-vaxxed adults are doing whatever they want with their kids while we mostly keep ours home and limit contact with people until it’s safer.

My wife said there was a long line at Walgreens yesterday for people getting the vaccine.   Fingers crossed.

Our school district announced that they are going back to masks. It will be required for anyone under the age of 11, and then strongly recommended for anyone not vaccinated and recommended for anyone vaccinated.

My wife (vaccinated) will likely wear one. My son will have to wear one. Honestly, I’m a little relieved. I think it’s the right choice, given the circumstances. There are probably better ways to do it, but they would involve mandating the vaccine for students and staff. I’m betting that’s coming before the start of 2022, but this is good enough in the interim.

It would be nice to watch Covid slowly just fade away as vaccinations increase. Unfortunately the dopes who have refused to get it will dream up some other reason why Covid faded. Or we’re in for another lockdown as Delta and other variants surge and they’ll say, ‘ see..what good is the vaccine any way.’ Again, profound ignorance.

The anti-vaxers have a ton of excuses.  I have heard many of them.  I have an unvaccinated friend (yes, I even have stupid friends) who quite often "cherry-picks" articles from alternative publications that support his view and he texts them to me.  Anything to support a bad habit.  Smoking is good for you...

My wife has a cousin whose wife is completely off the rails.   I mean it’s a planned pandemic, micro chips and Bill Gates are behind it….or worse.   She has had so many posts taken down on FB for the misinformation and crapola that she spreads.   She, albeit briefly, was posting about how the vaccine gets in your blood and makes you magnetic.   So yes, she believed that you could stick keys to your head because of the vaccine.

kind of makes deluding yourself you can make that forced carry (when you can’t) seem sane….

My school just announced similar last night:  masks for all, regardless of vaccination status, when indoors on campus, with some exceptions like if I'm alone in my office.  Students who plan to return for the fall term must either be vaccinated or have an "approved exception or medical exemption," although that's been announced for a while.  Tomorrow is four months since I got my second shot, so I'm good to go as far as that goes.

Edit to clarify:  I have no problem with the policy.  "I'm good to go as far as that goes" was my saying I don't have all my lesson plans for the term already in order, that sort of thing.

My keys didn't stick to my head until after the second shot.  I figure the whole car will stick to my head after the booster shot...

I tried screaming “I am MAGNETO” after my second shot (with a double dose of alien blood) and was un-politely asked to leave and never come back.  I tried attracting something metal into my hand by flying across the room, but ended up with a bad hand cramp.

In OK, schools are not legally allowed to require masks, even for those who are too young to get vaccinated.  😞

I'm glad to hear that the vaccine can make keys stick to your head.  Maybe it will work on the five simple keys from a while back?

You are supposed to wait 5 months before getting a booster shot.  Some folks are finding a sneaky way around the current restrictions and getting a third shot.  Apparently they are the opposite of the anti-vaxers.  Extra-vaxers.  I've read that once Pfizer gets full FDA approval then boosters will become available.  Supposedly that approval is due sometime in August.

So then nothing for Moderna...my five months are up already. Ughhhhh

The people I noticed who got vaxxed early, some of it was they knew an inside person, other than knowing exactly which sites to hit and when. Like people who were fully vaxxed by February/March.

    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
