Sorry everyone, we lived in a failed timeline that was abandoned at this point.

Never thought I'd have to spread this as a PSA, but please don't (if you were considering it) take livestock de-wormer to fight Covid.

https://abc7chicago.com/ivermectin-for-covid-livestock-dewormer-mississippi-poison-control-what-is/10966065/

If you search in Facebook for Ivermectin and look at the public groups you will see that all is not going well with that crowd.   They are buying different doses and potencies and then don't know why they are dizzy, sore or have blurred vision.    One person took a dose meant for a 1750 lb horse and then wondered if he did something wrong.

People are literally buying this up at Tractor Supply and asking how much to take and can they give it to their kids.   Lest anyone say "well there are human versions of this as well", they are not using those.   They are trying to use meds for sheep, horses and cattle for getting rid of worms/pests and then posting questions like "has anyone had any bowel or bathroom issues after taking this?"

The real victims at this point are the comedy writers.   WTH do they come up with after something like this, that seems remotely funny?

So let me get this straight. These f-ing idiots won’t take a vaccine approved by the best medical and pharmaceutical experts in the world, but instead will take a drug meant to de-worm horses cuz some dipshit on-line guy said too?

This is natural selection at its best. Tell them to take cyanide instead. It’s faster and more effective at natural selection.

Oh yeah, there are threads where people are going to leave their spouse because they are going to get vaxxed....stuff like that.   Ordering livestock de-wormer from  Chewy.com and then asking if they got the right kind.

One poster went on about whether or not you take the "paste" version orally or topically.   She ended with "do I use it in my mouth, or apply it to my armpit?"

Also, number of them are posting about the Nuremberg stuff, whether or not they can use that to avoid mandates to get vaxxed.   Meanwhile in reality, the Pfeizer vaccine was fully approved for 16+ and that prompted a number of people to move the goalposts with different excuses.   Unreal.

I'm studying for a certification for work, so I've been looking at it to break up my day.   The comments and what these people believe shock me.   I mean just shock me....  Makes the "Stop Conning yourself Thread" look like "You are 110% correct about your golfing ability"

I think we knew this was going to happen.

I find the American distrust and politicization of science really disturbing.

You can thank people like Bret Weinstein, and other people in who worked near/in the medical profession or as scientist, who pushed vaccine doubt and touted Ivermectin as this panacea drug against COVID.

They got to know there is a range of ignorant people out there who would do something like this. Sometimes, I don't even blame the people who went this route. If all the inputs into their brain, from what should be reliable sources, are that Ivermectin is this COVID wonder drug. What else should you expect from a certain percentage of people. It doesn't surprise me at all. I just feel sorry for them because to a certain degree, nothing would have changed their opinions outside of not having the failures of our leaders and the internet poisoning their minds with nonsense.

Not really unreal. The loudest talkers are those who are truly anti-vaxxers. Its nothing more than cult mentality. Lets all drink from this red cup at the same time.

Yea, moving the goalpost was to be expected. It's probably near the top in tactics used.

A friend of mine refused to get vaccinated. He doesn't believe in any of the numbers. His basic response is F*** You, I'll do what I want. He's been a friend for a few years now, this is the first time he's really gotten on a crazy bandwagon. So, hopefully once this blows over he will calm down a bit. 99% of the time he's really chill.

"The vaccine hasn't been fully approved yet." was simply a placeholder for people to not get the shot but appear somewhat reasonable in their friends' eyes.  Now they've lost their go-to BS.  They still won't get vaccinated and their excuse will be even worse.

Yes…as well as preventing variants.

But, does it? It’s been my understanding that a breakthrough case can carry enough viral load to possibly pass the virus on - hence the masks for both vaccinated and unvaccinated. If that’s true is it not also possible for one to host a new variant?

I got fired up today because my informed me, via one of her direct friends who does Covid contact tracing, that she is aware of people in our area who have Covid and are sending their kids to school.   School started Monday and there’s already 71 cases in the district (which is big, like 11-13 separate schools).

I can’t even begin to fully understand what that nurse is feeling.  Bunch of loads ruining their jobs and lives.

I wonder if the authorities could get involved and maybe bring criminal negligence charges against people like this.

That’s just like asking, ‘ but does the vaccine prevent infection?’ Of course it can. We already know nothing is absolute. The chance of creating  variants is greatly reduced in vaccinated individuals just as chances of getting a large viral load in vaccinated people is. That’s the point. 🙂

One of my neighbors had to go down to the school and pick his daughter up because now she has to quarantine for two weeks because of someone like this.  He knows people doing this and started naming names.  Someone else there pulled him aside, but honestly I’d let him do it if I was there.  People shouldn’t forget who willingly do stuff like this.  I don’t think there have been cases brought against people.

And for all the time our school system had to prepare, the remote learning for quarantined kids is simply having a camera in the regular class and anyone at home is on mute.

It's just so frustrating that people are willfully ignoring the information on this virus and in doing so puts other lives at risk, your neighbor actually showed restraint in my opinion I don't know how I would react if my daughter was too young for the vaccine and parents were sending kids to school who have been exposed to covid. I hope for everyones sake they don't cause an outbreak that may take a young life.

Forgive my ignorance for asking. Why are people taking this de-wormer? Is it because the do not trust the vaccine?  OK, you do not trust the vaccine that has helped millions with minimal side effects but you will take this? I guess I am over-estimating the intelligence of many people.

and sending known infected anywhere, not just to schools, is idiotic, careless and should be criminal.

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
