Ok only got my Iphone camera I see it has a slow-mo setting would that work ?

Absolutely. Just make sure the camera is lined up properly.

I see that someone is holding the phone to film you. Ask them politely to try not to move during the shot.

After you film in slow motion, you can edit where the slow motion starts. At the bottom of the edit screen, slide the vertical lines to start the slow motion when you start your backswing. Otherwise the video can be really long. Below I’ve set the slow motion to the very end  17A56083-A386-4373-A923-6C33CF292CEF.png

You trim the video length on that screen too. If you tap the line that looks like film, it turns yellow and you can slide the ends to trim.8F702B6F-B25C-4D15-9ED3-81E6B75E2A54.png

Thanks for posting. Your fundamentals look pretty good. The one thing I see right away is you may be over-swinging. The backswing looks good until you get close to the top, but then you reach for a bit more and it pulls you back a bit. Check out the thread below. @billchao worked on this a while back.

As for low ball flight, in the iron video you appear to shift your weight forward at set up a bit like they do in Stack & Tilt. I had that issue and my instructor had me focus on even weight distribution at set up and to try to get my head behind the ball at set up. And keep it there in the backswing.

The other thing you can do is simply open the club face up a bit at address. The ball flight will start right and be higher. Adjust your aim accordingly.

Yes some great tips ...I'm seeing many issues I need to work on ..over-swing is certainly one

currently listening to mental golf game book .. my short game nerves + negative imaging costing me so many shots I'm putting around 35-40 a round far too many 3 putts (with the odd 4 putt) and chipping pitching not the best for the same reasons.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                the majority of my recent rounds has me in great positions to birdie or least par but blow it with poor directed chip-pitch shots backed up by woeful putting..

You sound like you’re giving too much weight to the mental game.

Maybe but being a "fire brand" a duff chip/4 putt usually always leads to least one to two bad holes as I try to cool off ...

  • 4 months later...

Continuing to work on my swing ...will put up new slow mo clips soon ...

so fixes I done last few months

-keeping the feet quiet ...as you can see from above clips i had issues moving my trialing foot away at the start of backswing ..I no longer do this>>>

-Over-swinging !! ... bring more shoulder turn ,,,slowing down my takeaway .... trying not to rip 300+ yard hits every drive... thinking fluid smoothness ..

-front knee soreness = opening feet stance to more duck foot (which is how I ride my snowboard by do it right knee forward)

--working on reducing tension ...I have strong forearms -arms from my Physical job and find I over grip and pull many shots ....so PSR is really made up of relaxing grip and arm + overall tension

    • Is there a definition of what makes one the greatest golfer? Is it how many majors one has won? How many total tournaments one has won? Or is it who would win most matches if the two played each other. Maybe it's the length of their career mixed with the quality of their successes? If Tiger and Jack went head to head in the primes of their careers, say 10 matches, I would probably pick Tiger to win more then Jack. jmo.
    • To her driver?  She was always adjusting loft and draw bias so understandable she could have lost her head.  An adjustable wrench or a Torx screwdriver and it goes back on easily. (😁 Couldn't help myself)     (Just discovered you can italicize emojis!) ⛳🍷

    • Shot 79 today, with 14 nGIR/GIR, 32 putts, and 1 penalty stroke. Low event round, nothing awful, and nothing exceptional. Changes from my last lesson basically took my bad hook misses out of play, which really helped. I felt confident that I could aim and know that if I missed, it would be a playable right miss. I'm still working up to full speed with the change, so hit a little shorter than normal (about 1 club loss of distance) today, but my home course is narrow and position/accuracy are more important than length on most holes. The penalty stroke came on the one hole where a right miss is penal, and my tee shot, which was headed a bit right, took a hard first bounce further right, and rolled into a creek. Made 4 up/down from nGIR, which was also helpful in scoring, including a nice one on the 18th hole, where I had about a 20 foot putt for par to break 80, and nailed it.
    • I’ve almost completed the main game of Hollow Knight. An incredible game that I knew nothing about before playing. It’s a Metroidvania like game and quite extensive. It feels like the Soulsborne of platformers. Somewhat in the vein of the Ori games, but more extensive and challenging. It’s not as difficult as games like Wings og Vi, Boshy and Roah, but takes some precise controlling. You can become a bit OP by collecting and upgrading, which makes it more manageable, not too different from Soulsborne.
