Let me guess...child’s play to you.

That guy is like a world champion Sudoku guy.

I could solve it but it would take me days.

I work every puzzle in the paper to try to keep this 67 year old brain semi-functional. What I've discovered is that, every so often, I can solve one of the bronze (easy) level sudokus! I try to be systematic, but it seem to come down to pure happenstance. No time to watch tonight, but I will watch this, as maybe it will clue me in to a flaw in my methodology.

The one puzzle that I have really fallen in love with is the "Cryptoquip", which is a substitution cipher. Once I solved my first one I was hooked!

I stopped watching the video as soon as I found out there was a link and went to do the puzzle, Figured it out in about 14 minutes, finished in 18:22.

I used to be pretty good at Sudoku :-D

Lol it's been a while since I did one. Easier to do on the computer, too. Used to write little numbers in corners everywhere. With the color shading it's harder to miss a box.

Lots of fun. I'm still smiling, both from figuring it out myself and then watching the guy on the video figure it out.

Wow. That was definitely fun to watch. The pattern at the end was amazing!

Same here. I’d have to go at it for a while if I wanted to solve it, but the way I am when solving a Sudoku puzzle, I’d probably quit in the first hour out of frustration.

    • About half the people I know felt bad enough they couldn't work for at least part of a day. 80% of Americans couldn't cover a surprise $500 expenditure/bill. ~50% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. 25% of workers have no paid sick leave whatsoever. Since those largely overlap, you figure that makes 15-20% of workers who aren't paid when they're sick and barely cover their bills at the end of each month. Ideology can't change the facts.
    • I linked to the hole so just look at it. It’s a par five with a ravine left and my path to the right was blocked by trees. I hit the 6I ~180.
    • I am happy with just about any GIR. The only exception would be a par-5, or short par-4, where I am left with a putt for the "approach" shot (i.e, on fringe, or fairway just off green).
    • Well you didn't say that in the original post. I thought you mishit the 6i leaving you in that position. 6i in my hand, I'm usually looking to hit the green. But regardless, the point is a 30 yards to pin wedge shot over a bunker to a front to back sloping green is no picnic, so leaving a 30 foot uphill putt is nothing to get annoyed about.
    • No. That second shot was very good and appropriate.
