I just bought an Aldila vs proto to put in my G10, and I was wondering about how much it generally costs to get the stock shaft pulled and the new shaft installed. I've never re-shafted a club as I generally just buy them with the shaft I want, so I didn't know what I should expect pricewise.
In the bag:

Driver: Tour Burner 9.5* w/ Aldila VS Proto stiff shaft

If you already have the shaft, any real golf shop, or even Dick's Sporting Goods will reshaft and regrip for around $15. Don't pay anymore than $20 though, I'm sure you can find someplace to do it cheaper. I only paid $12 to have my driver reshafted and regripped (including cost of the grip). Good luck

I want to live in your area because a reshafting under 20 bucks is way cheap!!!!! I build some clubs and do all my own work but I know the local golf galaxy charges around 50 bucks for a pull and install. Local fitters around here will pull for around 30 bucks or so.

Golfsmith charges $17 for the installation. This does not include the grip.

Also, if you plan on having your shaft pured, it will cost you, at least, $50.

Oh, I didn't get my shaft pured or anything...Does that really make a difference Judging by the cost, I'm assuming it can be pretty beneficial, but what does puring really do? I've heard the term but I don't really know what it means...Since Dick's Sporting Goods is a chain, I'm assuming the price will be the same or relatively similar everywhere (~$20). I got mine done at Golf Etc. in Tampa, FL, and the $12 included a new grip and everything, so I guess I got kind of lucky. I got an Aldila NV75 Stiff for $28 off Rockbottom, so if it was $50 to reshaft I would have just waited and bought a new driver, that price seems so high!

The $50 charge is for having it pured. Again, I'm basing off my experience. It may be cheaper where you live. Basically, puring stabilizes the shaft. It does this by finding the dominant point in the shaft where it flexes. This process results in a softer feel. You may gain more distance and hit the ball straighter. It's a beneficial process as no two golf shafts are the same. This process ensures optimum shaft performance. Hope this helps.

At my local Dick's it's $9.99 for a pull, $17.99 to put the shaft in, and I believe another $9.99 for a grip. That doesn't include the price of the shaft or grip, of course. I have a local golf shop that is way cheaper, though. It's like $15 for a pull and re-shaft and only $5 or so for a grip install.

If you have a small, local shop, I just about guarantee you can get a better deal there than at a big retailer.
