That was a lot of fun and a big help to my golf game to boot. I definitely got everything I expected (and more) out of my first professional golf lesson. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the round today, but I'll definitely be keeping on eye out for future TST outings.

I couldn't be more happy about all of this. It was a real treat meeting everyone and getting my butt kicked by a windy Whispering Woods.

P.S. Buddy Christ is back baby!

I laughed, I cried, It was better than Cats.

It was great meeting everyone. Really, a lot of fun. Now, I have to find a white belt.

Ok, got back at 9:30 last night and crashed hard for 9 hours but well worth it.

First, big thanks to @iacas for setting the weekend up.  I had an absolute blast and as mentioned earlier, well worth every penny.

My apologies to @DrizZzY and especially @Hardspoon who was forced to ride with me for my eternal bitching at least on the front 9.  No excuses but failing to get a good nights sleep really impacted me more than it should have but I hope by the back 9, I was more fun to hang out and play with.

Great day (weekend) of golf.  Thanks to @iacas for setting this up.  If only I could make 4' putts, I'd have another $60 to spend on golf instruction!

Even short-handed, Group #4 (@RFKFREAK, @DrizZzY) cleaned UP - quota game winner and (8) skins...

Pwning souls up at Whispering Woods!

It was a pleasure to meet everyone. Today was a blast and I was glad we only go hit with a few short lived rain showers.

Dude, def a pleasure.  Next time you gotta show us how you hit that 2 iron so well!

Lot of fun this weekend, thanks @iacas for setting up another good outing.

Good to meet all of you guys, looking forward to the next one.

Plus, one, dude.  Next time, though, don't get in the way when I'm practicing my flop shot.

Enjoyed meeting you, too, man!  Please don't ever have the Buddy Christ leave us again. :-$

I'm still mystified that someone doesn't like cake or donuts?! :bugout:

No such thing 🤮

In Buffalo they have Paula's Donuts. Lines form. These things are the BOMB. Maybe I can bring a couple dozen to the next meet-up.

I wouldn't say it was "eternal"...I mean, you stopped bitching long enough to hit each shot.  :)

(Just kidding...it was fun...we've all been in that mood when playing badly!)

Lol..

Y'all were lot of fun to spend the weekend with. Honestly the best parts was catching up with old friends and now getting to put a face on the the handles of new friends. Shout out to @iacas, CHQ learning center and Whispering Woods Golf Course for the great rate for the outing. Course was in great shape.

Hope we can do it again. Bagels and donuts on me next time around. I am certain both qualify as breakfast of champions! 😜

My wife pointed out to me yesterday that it's been more than 2 weeks now since returning from the event in PA/NY.
So, therefore, it looks like I didn't catch any COVID'y stuff while out and about away from home.

Just barely. Not because of the COVID, but I'm pretty sure the other people in my foursome wanted to wrap me upside the head with my driver about eleventeen times about the 7th or 8th time a dead pulled a driver into the trees and had to take 3 (or 5) from the tee.

    • I do hope it changes golf for the better, in terms of helping put to bed many of golf's little idioms that turned out to be lies once we had access to the relevant data. I really appreciate how Bryson has fully embraced the statistics to optimize his golf game. So many players, including a lot of tour professionals, ignore the basic facts that show you're better off hitting an approach from closer to the hole even if it means using a partial swing or hitting from the rough. Conditions at courses like Winged Foot with monstrous rough are outliers, because most of the time the rough isn't that big of a problem and even at Winged Foot it still wasn't always or even often worth the difference in approach shot distance. If you're strong enough to hit the ball 320+ off the tee, you're strong enough to also hit the ball out of the rough without an issue other than reduced backspin. Tiger Woods was the catalyst that pushed professional golfers to truly be strong and fit athletes, because he showed what kind of difference it can make. I'm hoping that DeChambeau can be the catalyst that pushes professional golfers to utilize data to optimize their strategy, rather than relying as heavily on gut feelings and tradition. The only disappointing thing is that I saw him removing flagsticks for his putts all week, but I don't know if the US Open used flagsticks with a high enough COR to make flagstick in or out a better play with regards to the statistics.
    • I think if he uses the approach shots, short game and putting performance here, he certainly has a chance. But some folks are thinking that power is the only key.    I’m curious to see how different the course plays in November too.
    • Nah. Tiger passed Jack around major 13 or 14. Look at the poll results and look at the age of the topic. Way to ignore everything @turtlebacksaid, too.
    • And before he won his 15th Major Tiger said Jack was GOAT. Tiger Woods says Jack Nicklaus the best of all time | Golf Channel Tiger Woods has given a lot of people reason to believe he is the best golfer of all time. The 14-time major winner, however, said Friday he is second on the list.
    • I didn’t read what Rory said as being against BDC at all.  He was wondering how someone could overpower the golf course the way that he did,  I think the headline was misleading.   Bryson, whether people agree or not, is trying new things and afaik doing it completely legally.  People have a right to challenge whether that is good for the game or not, but I didn’t think Rory was criticizing him personally.   Just saying he’s taken advantage of things that others haven’t.   I don’t think bad of him for doing his science stuff,   I just don’t like his attitude sometimes.   That headline article looks like it’s trying cause a controversy that really isn’t there
