First I'm too far to the right then I'm too far to the left. I'm going to have to bring a can of spray paint and paint lines on the floor to get this right.

Just put a stick below your hands and make it look "vertical" in the camera with the right height.

Or set a club down where you hit from.

Still working on a few things with my swing. Here's the Down The Line view as it is right now. I shot this using the slow motion feature on my phone.

Here's the caddie view.

Still working on a few things. It's getting better.

Here's my swing this past Sunday at the indoor range.

From DTL it's looking okay.

I'm not as happy with it from the caddie view.

I feel like I can get better extension with my arms through and after impact. Plus, I think I need to get a little more shaft lean at impact. It's better than it was, but I still have more to do.

So a couple things stand out to me.

Your hands are very active on the take away.  What I have found is that if you have active hands on the takeaway, rotation becomes a second thought on the backswing and downswing.  I really try to make my body turn by practicing standing up like this:

Or better, watch Monte do it:

Look at how little shoulder rotation you have at the start of your backswing.  You club isn't staying in front of you and connected with the arms in the backswing.

Next, your body rotation needs some work.  You don't have a stable rotation and you get dumped under on the downswing, which is probably causing your push (looks like a push to me).  For me what has really helped is standing up straight like Monte does in a number of his videos.  I personally practice my swing standing up twice as much as actually bent over because a lot of the bad moves in golf don't make sense standing up or you simply can't do them.

When I look at your shoulder rotation, you are really dropping your trail shoulder in transition rather than rotating it towards the ball.  You get into a shallow position, but then your club has downward momentum and gets dumped under an optimum plane:

From there you need to horizontally rotate the get the club to the ball.  Because of that, you get to a more horizontal finish:

So I think it's really worth while to spend time on the rotation driving things and making the correct rotation, all in my opinion.

This one is mostly for me as a check on if some of the stuff I'm working on is getting into my swing.
I feel like I'm making progress. I still have more to work on but this is like way WAY better than it was two/three years ago.

Been a while since I put a my swing video in this thread. Yesterday I was at the range and decided to grab a video of my driver swing. I can see a couple of things I'd like to work on. But it was a good idea to take a video.

I guess it's time to get back to work on the swing.

Bill, I would hope you'd know by now that when I don't bring my tripod, I have to balance my phone on my golf bag. I know, I suck at Camera angles.

I'll try to remember to throw the tripod in the trunk for next time.

I need to get some lessons. I have a good swing coach, but this year has been particularly busy. ... Even more than the normal busy year.

(It's reasonably effective. I get most of my tee shots in the fairway.)

Chet, where were you located in the February 2023 videos. I am shopping some indoor venues. Where I was last year it was $250/mo., minimum 3 months.

Here's my current 6 iron swing. There are a few things I see that make me cringe. I will say the swing is pretty playable right now. I'm mostly hitting it well lately. (in terms of results).

Here's caddie view. Again, I have stuff to work on, but this swing is pretty effective in letting me get around the golf course.

We'll make good use of the force plates.

There's no shot I'd trust myself moving the mat that far back at that range lol. I know you did it for the video though. Even though I'm sure it's totally fine with a mid iron. I've had buddies hit the ceiling there with a wedge when the mats are in their normal spot let alone moved that far back.

    • Okay, so last night I went to my local place that does PXG fittings. I had every intention of testing out the PXG Allan Putter... which I did. But then, I ended up making either the greatest purchase ever or the worst. Time will tell. I ended up getting fit for and buying a PXG secret weapon... Yeah, I impulse bought a mini-driver.  🤷‍♂️ Clearly PXG saw me coming. Because it's a really good looking club and ... I like shiny things. They've done a great job on the look of this mini driver. I mean it looks great. When sitting down by the ball it looks like a 3-wood. It's actually kind of hard to tell from the top which is bigger the 0311XF or the Secret Weapon. But then you pick it up and realize there's more face than a 3 wood. I think the best way to describe it would be it's the look and color scheme of the Black Ops 3-wood, but the footprint of the 0311XF with a slightly taller face. Which in my opinion looks awesome.  My swing right now is a bit of a work in progress. But I was able to hit the club off the deck and off a tee, with about a 10 yardish advantage hitting off the tee. I also found I had the best results teeing it pretty low. I know, I was hitting it off a mat, so I had a perfect lie every time, but I was very surprised how well it performed off the deck. Currently I don't try to hit my 3-wood unless I get a perfect or near perfect lie anyway, so I think this club will be just fine as a 3-wood replacement.  One thing that was kind of cool, is the best shaft for me turned out to be the Hzrdus Black, 6.0 60. It was a pretty clear winner; Even in terms of feel. That shaft is one of the no upcharge shafts. I will say the Ventus Blue 6 Velocore performed very well. The Ventus Blue 6 Velocore is $300 upgrade. The Ventus also looked great. It's a great color, but the Hzrdus actually gave me better numbers so kudos to the folks at Project X.  Lastly, I broke all my personal rules when it comes to buying golf clubs.  1 - Never buy a club after only hitting for one session. Come back and see if you can repeat the results before buying .... I didn't do that. I just bought it.  2 - It's always a good idea to wait until the newest models come out and then buy the previous or even 2 years back models deeply discounted. ... I didn't do that.  3 - Never impulse buy a club. Always be certain the club fills a certain need in your bag. ... I didn't do that. I was perfectly happy with my 3-wood, until....  4 - Always bring the club you want to replace with you so that you can test it side by side on the same day against the new club. .... I didn't do that either.  5 - Never buy new clubs while you are in the middle of a swing change. ... Looks like I'm 0 for 5.  So, I'm probably an idiot for impulse buying a mini-driver. But man, it's so cool. And I can't wait to get it.
    • Feels are personal. Some people will feel like it's a hit, some will feel like it's a swing. Some will feel like it's one and then have other swings, even in the same round, that feel like the other. "Swing" and "hit" are feel words.
    • I have reviewed the entire Swing Thoughts forum and this question has been answered many times in many ways. I am posting to seek help in clearing my own thoughts. Hogan says for the average golfer to "keep any conscious hand action out of his swing". 6 pages later he also says "Hit the ball as hard as you can with both hands".  This appears to be a contradiction. My drives are respectable (I can find them) when I focus on swinging with loose wrists. If I try to "hit" the ball it all turns to doo doo. Strangely, I can "hit" a 7 iron - and it is more satisfying than just swinging at it! I have been told that my swing is fast. Advice please
