    • I'm in Southeast Florida.  The course I typically play has reduced rates for the off season between the end of April until the end of August.  Sometimes rates further reduce in the afternoon.  Afternoons during the summer would be the time you can likely find the lowest rates.  People avoid those times due to the heat.  Rates are highest between fall and spring.  Peak is typically Thanksgiving to Easter when seasonal resident (snowbird) play is at its highest.
    • Yup. I have started to play better recently and the soft cap was removed. I am now closer to my low index than I am to the high index that triggered the soft cap. Frankly, I have no problem when my cap is going downward. It means I am playing and scoring better. I usually play for some money and I notice I win more when my index is close to the low index. I was getting hammered as my cap went up. The extra strokes meant nothing.
    • When I read this, it makes so much sense.  Without having given it much thought before, I had assumed the opposite up to and including yesterday's round (and I can count for-sure a double bogey I made where I assumed that it would be straight for my bogey putt). This is going to have to be something I keep in mind going forward.
    • Its been a while since I've been to the Orlando area, but we use to go in early April. I thought our rates were typically slightly lower, but I could be wrong. You can definitely get deals on hotels, condo's or rental homes in off season.
