It just seems that this got blown way out of proportion and it is hard to believe that they cannot see this. It also seems so easy to remedy. No one is trying to drag out where the letter came from. No one is trying to place blame on anyone. All they want is to have the chance to play. Good luck! I hope they get to play!

Geez. Getting to advance past district, and hopefully play in the state championship is one of those things that a high school athlete looks forward to most. To not be able to do that due the circumstances listed would be quite the disservice to those young ladies. I have sent a letter. Hope things turn out for the best.

Yes, all it would have taken on Friday or Saturday morning was to say "you know what, mistakes were made, but not by the girls themselves, so we'll let them re-enter and play." And all that would have to be done now is to say "you know, mistakes were made, but not by the girls themselves, so we'll expand the field at States by two and admit them to play, as they're clearly the two best players from the area/district/region."

Thank you!

This would be the simplest solution. It doesn’t stop the other two girls that “qualified” from competing, but allows the two that should have been in those spots to compete.

Looks better for them, too. Right now it looks like administrative BS and they don’t know what they’re doing.

BTW congrats on passing 10,000 posts.

Now back to our regularly scheduled shock and disbelief.

Sent via the PIAA website. Hope this all works out for them.

Thank you. I'm starting to suspect it will not. 😞

Sent a message to the PIAA. Read the OP several times and like @DeadMan said, each reread made me angrier.

Thank you. I've gotten angry so many times, and cursed while telling so many people about this, that I've just about run out. Until it's all replenished again, that is.

Sent a letter through the website.

Unfortunately, many times ppl don't want to admit their errors or have a reason to not admit it besides foolish pride.

I hope this gets rectified.

Thank you!

My letter is in.  I’m sure the PIAA will love it.

What an egregious decision, at least thus far.

Hope we can swing their decision.

Thank you, Brad.

I'm honored that so many people see the tragedy in this and are willing to take the time to send a letter.

@iacas, at what point will you have a final ruling?

On the 20th, when the state championship is played and we're sitting in Erie.

We had a lawyer send a letter to them yesterday.

    • weirdly I tend to play better on the back. But the most exaggerated came the day after 7 holes I was 13 or 14 over (inclduing having birdied hole #2) and finished the day...13 or 14 over. One birdie, one bogey over the last 11 holes.  Been plenty of rounds like you described though were the front score was better than expected only to make up all the extra strokes over the rest of the holes...gotta get your moneys worth
    • No, but I have seen that tip and will give it a go. Thanks for info
    • So true.  That's where the Italian Sports Drink comes in for me... for lubrication of the swing parts... That there is worth 13 extra strokes on the back 9.  Will they deliver to the 10th tee box?
    • Do you ever work on center face contact using a sharpie? I do that when I feel miss hits. I find I’m off center, usually toward the hosel. I make a few adjustments and I get back to center. You may be just 1/2” off center with the MP33 and it feels bad in your hands. I practice with an MP68 6 iron for that reason. I can feel it being off.
    • Yes, sorry for lack of detail my current set of mp-33 have R300 When I hit the mx23 today, I felt the weight of the head more than my mp33 though, I think I got a higher swing speed and contact was good. But that's just a feeling and a hunch, as I didn't have any 'flightscope' type tech running. I love the mp-33 when I play well and contact is good, but 15-20% of the time I struggle to make clean contact and consequently lose some confidence and struggle. That is why I was exploring mx23's. I probably would have stuck with steel , but that ws all they had today. I might just buy them, play them, and keep the mp33 , just in case.
